On the afternoon of August 7, RON 95-III gasoline exceeded the 20,000 VND/liter mark.

(GLO)- From 3:00 p.m. on August 7, according to the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, the price of RON 95-III gasoline increased by 234 VND/liter, currently selling at 20,074 VND/liter.

Along with that, the price of E5RON92 gasoline also increased by 207 VND/liter, currently at 19,608 VND/liter.

While gasoline prices increased across the board, oil prices fluctuated depending on the type. Diesel oil decreased by VND268 per liter, now priced at VND18,800 per liter; kerosene decreased slightly by VND54, now priced at VND18,660 per liter. Fuel oil alone increased by VND114 per kilogram, now priced at VND15,647 per liter.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the world oil market in this operating period (from July 31 to August 6) is affected by main factors such as: updated information on US tax policy on imported goods of trading partners; OPEC+ decision to increase oil production in September; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues... The above factors have caused world oil prices in recent days to fluctuate up and down depending on each product.

In light of the above developments in world oil prices, fluctuations in the VND/USD exchange rate and current regulations, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance decided on a plan to manage oil prices to ensure that domestic oil price fluctuations are consistent with world oil price fluctuations; continue to maintain the price difference between E5RON92 biofuel and RON95 mineral gasoline at a reasonable level to encourage the use of biofuels according to the Government's policy; ensure the harmony of interests between market participants.
