On October 25, the National Assembly conducted a personnel process to perfect the Government leadership apparatus.
At the request of the Prime Minister , the National Assembly approved the appointment of two personnel to the position of Deputy Prime Minister, including Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Mr. Ho Quoc Dung.
The resolution on approving the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2021-2026 term for Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Mr. Ho Quoc Dung was passed with 429/430 delegates present in favor (90.51% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).
With this restructuring, the current Government leadership has 10 people, including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and 9 Deputy Prime Ministers.

9 Deputy Prime Ministers include: Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Hoa Binh (Permanent Deputy Prime Minister), Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Ho Duc Phoc, Bui Thanh Son, Nguyen Chi Dung; Mai Van Chinh; Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Ho Quoc Dung.
New Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra was born in 1964, from Nghe An, has a Master's degree in Educational Management. She is a member of the 12th and 13th Central Committee and a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.
From a teacher at the Tran Yen District Practice Center (Yen Bai province), Ms. Tra later became Deputy Head of the Department of Education, before successively holding many important positions in the locality such as Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Yen district; Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Youth Union.

After 2 years as Head of the Propaganda Department of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee, Ms. Tra became Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in April 2008, then she became Secretary of the Yen Bai City Party Committee.
In mid-2014, Ms. Tra was entrusted with the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee. She became Secretary of the Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee in October 2016, then served as Chairwoman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee for a period (October 2016 - January 2017), then Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Council (February 2017 - October 2020).
At the end of 2020, she was transferred to the Central Committee, holding the position of Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, Deputy Minister and then Minister of Home Affairs.
New Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung was born in 1966, from the former Binh Dinh (now Gia Lai province). He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, with a Master's degree in law.

As a cadre who grew up from the grassroots, Mr. Dung has a long time working in his hometown, the old Binh Dinh province. He has successively experienced and held many positions in the locality such as: Vice Chairman of Phu Cat district; Deputy Chief of Office and then Chief of Office of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee.
In 2009, he became Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, then Permanent Vice Chairman 2 years later.
In November 2014, Mr. Dung assumed the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province. After nearly 6 years, in October 2020, at the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the 20th Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung was elected to hold the position of Secretary of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, then concurrently held the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.
After Binh Dinh province merged with Gia Lai, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung was appointed as Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee (new) for the 2020-2025 term and has held this position since the end of June until now.
