Officially opening the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan and Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway projects

(Chinhphu.vn) - On August 19, in Da Nang and Quang Tri, the opening ceremony of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan and Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway projects was held.

On the morning of August 19, the Ministry of Construction coordinated with the People's Committee of Da Nang City to organize the technical opening ceremony of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway Construction Project.

The project was implemented according to the Prime Minister's decision approving the Road Network Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. The Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) approved the project and assigned the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board as the investor.

The Hoa Lien – Tuy Loan Expressway has a total length of about 11.5km, passing through Lien Chieu Ward, Hoa Khanh Ward and Ba Na Commune of Da Nang City. The route starts at Km66+000 (Hoa Lien intersection, the end point of Ho Chi Minh Road, La Son – Hoa Lien section) and ends at Km77+472 (Tuy Loan intersection, the starting point of Da Nang – Quang Ngai Expressway). The total investment of the project is about 2,113 billion VND, using state budget capital.

After nearly two years of construction, with the close direction of the Government, the Ministry of Construction and the close coordination of central ministries, branches and the Da Nang City government, the project has basically completed 11.5km of the main expressway route. Two parallel service roads on both sides are also being urgently deployed, expected to be completed in 2025.

The project is expected to contribute to completing the transport infrastructure network in the Central region, enhancing the connection of the North-South expressway in the East and creating momentum for the socio-economic development of Da Nang City and neighboring localities.

The project is invested in construction on the basis of expanding the Hai Van - Tuy Loan tunnel currently in operation with the scale of a level 80 highway, designed speed of 80 km/h. The diverging phase will have a scale of 4 complete lanes, a roadbed width of 22.0 m, and at the same time arrange parallel collector roads on both sides with a level IV delta scale according to TCVN 4054:2005. The completion phase will invest according to the planning scale of 6 lanes, a roadbed width of 29.0 m.

When completed and put into operation, the project will ensure smooth traffic, meet the increasing demand for travel and freight transport; complete the planning for the development of the transport network and the overall planning for socio-economic development of Da Nang City, contributing to the completion of the North-South expressway network in the East.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quang Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City emphasized that this is a project of great significance to the transport infrastructure, socio-economic development of the city, the Central region as well as the whole country. When put into operation, the expressway will connect La Son - Tuy Loan, Hai Van tunnel, National Highway 1, Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway, National Highway 14B, creating momentum for socio-economic development, national defense and security in the region.

Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway opens to traffic

Also this morning (August 19), the Ministry of Construction coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to organize the inauguration ceremony of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo section project of the North - South Eastern Expressway, phase 2021-2025.

Construction started in January 2023, the Van Ninh - Cam Lo expressway is 65.5km long, with a total investment of nearly VND 9,920 billion, invested by the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board.

The route starts from Van Ninh commune (now Truong Ninh commune, Quang Tri province), connecting with Bung - Van Ninh expressway at the National Highway 9B intersection. The final section is at Cam Hieu commune (now Hieu Giang commune, Quang Tri province), connecting with Cam Lo - La Son expressway.

The expressway runs almost parallel to Ho Chi Minh Road and has several intersections where underpasses are being built to ensure traffic safety. The Van Ninh - Cam Lo Expressway is designed in phase 1 with 4 lanes, maximum speed of 60-90 km/h.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Tri province, emphasized that the inauguration of the Van Ninh - Cam Lo section not only contributes to completing the North - South expressway in the East but also opens up great opportunities for Quang Tri to attract investment and develop tourism.

The project will become an important driving force to promote socio-economic growth, improve people's lives, and affirm the connecting role of Quang Tri on the national traffic map.
