Political Commissar of Military Region 5 Luong Dinh Chung was promoted to the rank of Major General.

On November 5, the Commander of Military Region 5 announced that Political Commissar of Military Region 5 Luong Dinh Chung had just been promoted to the rank of Major General.

Accordingly, on November 4, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to announce and hand over the President's Decision on personnel work. General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member and Minister of National Defense, attended and chaired the ceremony.

According to the Decision of the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the rank of Comrade Luong Dinh Chung, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Military Region 5, is promoted from Colonel to Major General.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang presented the Decision and flowers to congratulate Major General Luong Dinh Chung.

The promotion of Comrade Luong Dinh Chung to the rank of Major General demonstrates the Party, State and Army's recognition and appreciation for his great contributions and dedication during his work; especially in leading and directing the building of a comprehensively strong "exemplary and typical" armed force of Military Region 5, contributing to the cause of building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Vietnam People's Army to protect the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
