Careful preparation for the Southeast Asian Gong Festival 2025

The event was held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space being recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity; and to implement commitments when joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of music .

The festival is expected to have the participation of 15 gong artist troupes from the Central Highlands provinces, northern provinces, Southeast Asian countries and UNESCO creative cities.

Activities will be held simultaneously in 3 areas: Lam Dong of thousands of flowers, Lam Dong of blue sea and Lam Dong of great forests.

The main activities of the Festival include: Cultural Festival of ethnic minorities in Lam Dong province, taking place from November 21-22, 2025 in Dong Gia Nghia ward; Southeast Asia Gong Harmony Night 2025, taking place from December 20, 2025 at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat; Brocade fashion show, taking place from December 19, 2025 at PiNi tourist area, Da Lat; Coffee and Heritage Festival, taking place from December 18-20, 2025 at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat.

The festival aims to honor and promote the cultural heritage of the Central Highlands Gong, and introduce the economic, cultural and tourism achievements of the Central Highlands region.

The festival also creates opportunities for cultural exchange between national and international ethnic groups, promotes the image of Lam Dong to international friends, affirms the position of Lam Dong - a land of convergence, spreading the cultural values of the Central Highlands to the world.

According to Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Festival will have about 520 artisans and actors participating.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing preparations for the event with many important contents such as: Propaganda work; security and order assurance; food and health safety; especially the organization, reception and safety assurance for delegates, artisans, actors, international guests...

Delegates also discussed the need for cooperation in music training, especially the need for attention and support in investing in specialized facilities and supplementing staff to meet the strict standards of this specific field.

In response to the above proposal, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Tuan agreed that relevant units should soon cooperate with major music training institutions in the country to open suitable majors. The long-term goal is to move towards establishing a music faculty with an official major code, ensuring sustainability.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested relevant agencies, units and localities to proactively develop detailed plans to ensure security and order, propaganda work before, during and after the event, along with thoughtfully welcoming international delegations.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Tuan requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to absorb comments from relevant departments and branches; at the same time, urgently research and propose some new festival theme names, and submit them to the Provincial People's Committee for selection.

He especially emphasized and requested that the Gong Festival must be structured with three main programs to ensure both a solemn ceremony and an attractive festival, attracting the maximum number of tourists.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested to urgently plan the organization of the Gong Club Festival, mobilizing all clubs in the province to participate. It is necessary to issue regulations, organize a competition to select about 15 excellent teams to participate in the main Festival in Gia Nghia and continue to select to participate in the main Festival Night at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat.

For the main festival night, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the script must be carefully constructed, ensuring harmony and liveliness between the ceremony, exchange and art performance, worthy of the development stature of the new Lam Dong province.
