Kindergarten principal fired over food ration scandal in Ba Ria

Ms. Phan Thi Han Hue, principal of Anh Duong Kindergarten in Chau Duc district ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau province), was dismissed from work from November 6.

After Ms. Hue corrected the shortcomings in the management of Anh Duong Kindergarten according to the inspection conclusion of Chau Duc District People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Tan Ban, Chairman of the District People's Committee, dismissed her from her job from November 6.

Decision No. 5369/QD-UBND dated November 6, 2024 of Chau Duc district resolved to dismiss Ms. Phan Thi Han Hue.

According to Decision No. 5369/QD-UBND dated November 6, 2024 of Chau Duc district, Ms. Hue is responsible for handing over tasks and related documents; is entitled to severance pay and other benefits (if any) according to regulations.

The Chairman of Chau Duc District People's Committee assigned the Chief of Office of the District People's Council and People's Committee, Head of the Department of Internal Affairs, Head of the Department of Education and Training, Anh Duong Kindergarten, heads of relevant agencies and units, and Hue to be responsible for implementing the decision.

Previously, the People's Committee of Chau Duc district announced the conclusion of a comprehensive inspection at Anh Duong Kindergarten in Ngai Giao town; the inspection period is from January 2022 to September 2024. The reason for the comprehensive inspection is that teachers at the school reported to the district authorities that their lunches were cut.

According to the inspection conclusion, in the process of managing and implementing tasks, Ms. Hue still had limitations and shortcomings.

Specifically, for the lunch of teachers and employees at Anh Duong school from September 2023 to May 2024, Ms. Hue did not organize to collect opinions, did not publicize the amount of money collected and spent. According to the conclusion, the remaining amount is 18,110,000 VND, and the principal of Anh Duong school is responsible for organizing the public disclosure and refunding the amount of 18,110,000 VND to teachers and employees who paid for lunch.

In addition, the remaining amount of money for meals for children at school is more than 25 million VND and has not been refunded to parents.

In September 2024, the school's teachers and staff met with the Chairman of the Chau Duc District People's Committee to report that the school lunch fee was 30,000 VND per meal, but the portion they received only consisted of rice, soup, and a few pieces of pork roll. Afterwards, Provincial Party Secretary Pham Viet Thanh requested that the violations be quickly clarified and the case strictly handled.
