The forest has a total area of 458 hectares, planted by Chau Thanh Forestry Enterprise (formerly) from 1981-1983 on many vacant lands and bare hills. At that time, the forest planting work encountered many difficulties, the workers had to clear bushes, weeds, grow seedlings, and mobilize people to hand over land for forest planting. After many years of hard work in planting and caring for new trees, Xuan Son forest is now green and lush, performing the function of a protective forest and creating an environmental landscape.
Xuan Son forest is a low hill forest, has convenient traffic routes in and out of the forest, is adjacent to agricultural land and surrounded by residential areas, so forest protection work is always taken seriously.
