
According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , up to now, ministries, branches and localities have completed 101/101 assigned tasks. The total number of fishing vessels currently registered and updated on Vnfishbase is 79,243, reaching 100%. For fishing vessels that are not qualified to operate, according to reports from localities that have been controlled, assigned to communes, wards and forces to manage anchorage locations.
During the week, 1,660 ships leaving the port and 1,457 ships arriving at the port were inspected and controlled according to regulations; 3,113 tons of aquatic products were monitored through the port on the eCDT system; no fishing vessels violating foreign waters were arrested. Information and propaganda work on various types of press and social networks continued to be promoted with many diverse and rich forms.
For Hung Yen province, implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, relevant communes continue to deploy tasks and solutions to combat IUU fishing. The results of combating IUU fishing in the province have had positive changes. During the week, the provincial authorities did not detect any fishing vessels that were not qualified to go fishing at sea, and no fishing vessels lost connection according to regulations. Up to now, 100% of fishing vessels have installed VMS, and no vessels have violated foreign waters or been arrested by foreign authorities.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested ministries and branches, according to their functions, to review the Fisheries Law to propose amendments and complete the legal corridor on the management of aquatic species according to the yellow card recommendations of the EC and the US; advise the Government to issue a specific resolution on this field; measures to combat IUU fishing in the coming time must be truly effective and clear for reporting and verification when working with the EC; continue to upgrade the national fisheries information and data system according to the motto "correct - sufficient - clean - alive" to manage the fleet and evaluate the quality of VMS signals.
