(DN) - On the afternoon of May 27, a working delegation of the National Steering Committee on Anti-Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods (National Steering Committee 389) led by Tran Duc Dong, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389, worked in Dong Nai .

On the Dong Nai side, there were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP, along with leaders of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial Police, relevant departments and branches, Dong Nai Newspaper, Dong Nai Radio and Television Station attending.

The content of the working session focused on the implementation of the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 65/CD-TTg (Order No. 65) on launching a peak period of fighting to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights and Directive No. 13/CT-TTg (Directive No. 13) of the Prime Minister on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the new situation in Dong Nai.

In addition, the working session also focused on the results of the implementation of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the first 5 months of 2025 in the province.

At the meeting, the representative of the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP reported on the implementation of Official Dispatch No. 65 and Directive No. 13 of the Prime Minister in the province. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1663/QD-UBND to establish a Working Group to direct, supervise and urge the work of the peak period of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights in the province.

Relevant departments and branches have also issued a plan to combat smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property rights infringement in the management areas of the province.

Regarding the results of the implementation of the work against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the first 5 months of 2025 in the province, the functional forces discovered more than 1,300 violations, handled more than 1,200 cases; the total amount of money collected for the budget was more than 705 billion VND. Of which, 17 criminal cases were prosecuted with 34 defendants.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung emphasized that Dong Nai has focused on many solutions and regularly implemented the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. In particular, the Provincial People's Committee has established a working group to direct, supervise and urge the work of the peak period of fighting to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and infringement of intellectual property rights in the province.

Provincial leaders noted that members of the team need to proactively organize, arrange forces, strengthen coordination in inspection and handling of violations, as well as implement related reporting regimes in a timely manner and in accordance with regulations.

In addition, relevant units need to strengthen information and propaganda work on the peak of the fight to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights. At the same time, departments, branches, and units need to promote the application of technology to promptly detect and combat smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the area in the new situation.

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389 Tran Duc Dong requested the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP to continue to closely follow the direction, proactively grasp the situation, organize appropriate forces, investigate and thoroughly handle complicated hotspots; as well as strengthen measures to combat and coordinate between relevant sectors to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights within the scope of responsibility.

At the same time, localities need to review and remove difficulties in material conditions and human resources, promptly consolidate the provincial Steering Committee 389/DP; ensure regular and timely reporting on the peak of the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights; strengthen propaganda work, raise public awareness of vigilance against tricks of production and consumption of counterfeit and smuggled goods, etc.
