According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SSI Securities Corporation, since the beginning of 2025, despite foreign investors continuously selling net, the VN-Index has still increased by more than 1,300 points thanks to the strong purchasing power of domestic investors. After the news of the US imposing high tariffs on Vietnamese goods, the market adjusted but liquidity skyrocketed. That shows that confidence in internal potential is greater than external concerns.
Indeed, in just the last 2 trading sessions (April 3 and 4), VN-Index lost a total of more than 107 points, pulling the index down to nearly 1,210 points. However, the liquidity of the entire market reached a huge level, the highest in several years. Accordingly, the average trading value of the 3 floors was over 42,000 billion VND, double that of the previous sessions.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Vietnam has more than 100 million people, most of whom are not used to borrowing money for consumption. This culture of saving, if transformed into a driving force for smart investment and reasonable consumption, will be an extremely sustainable foundation for long-term development.
"We have a large consumer market, abundant domestic cash flow, and increasingly professional investment psychology - this is a good time for domestic enterprises to reposition their production strategy and compete right at home, which will be the driving force for sustainable growth for the Vietnamese economy " - Mr. Hung said, emphasizing the factor of confidence at home, from potential to development strategy in the coming years.
According to Mr. Hung, to win at home, Vietnamese products must be truly better, more convenient, more reliable, not just cheaper. Compete by quality, by real value and by the trust that Vietnamese people have in each other.
