Notably, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with nearly 200 countries; become one of the 40 largest economies in the world, among the top 20 trading countries, ranked 32nd in the top 100 strongest national brand values in the world; signed 17 free trade agreements with more than 60 countries.
Regarding the investment environment, the National Assembly Chairman stated that Vietnam's investment environment is positively evaluated by the international community and investors; many foreign investors have chosen Vietnam as a strategic production center, connecting with global supply chains. Vietnam is increasingly affirming its role as an important link in the value chain, the new investment structure of the region and the world, especially in the fields of electronics, science and technology, innovation, and semiconductors.
The National Assembly Chairman also said that since the official establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, the relationship between the two countries has achieved great achievements and continuously developed on both bilateral and multilateral levels. In terms of economy and trade, the two countries are developing positively, from 2021 to present, growing by about 25% per year; in 2024 alone, trade exchange reached more than 200 million USD.... "The above cooperation results are encouraging but still not really commensurate with the potential, space and special relationship and friendship of the two countries" - the National Assembly Chairman stated.
Presenting some specific directions that businesses of both sides can jointly implement to promote economic cooperation between Vietnam and Uzbekistan, the National Assembly Chairman said that the two sides need to strengthen cooperation in the fields of agriculture and agricultural product processing; develop the textile and footwear industry; expand cooperation in the fields of energy and green technology; promote transport and tourism connectivity, etc.
In that spirit, to promote, deepen, comprehensively and more effectively cooperate between the business communities of the two countries with a focus on investment and trade, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that both sides should actively create conditions for Vietnamese and Uzbek enterprises to regularly have opportunities to exchange, seek and exploit cooperation and investment opportunities, especially in areas with great potential and demand such as oil and gas, mining, agriculture, tourism, etc. Along with that, the two countries need to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones, to consolidate political trust and promote cooperation in potential areas. "Vietnam is ready to be a bridge for Uzbekistan to strengthen relations with ASEAN and hopes that Uzbekistan will be a bridge for Vietnam to strengthen cooperation with Central Asian countries" - the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
