According to a preliminary report from the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Construction, due to the influence of the remnants of Typhoon No. 12, from October 24th to 27th, the province experienced moderate to heavy rainfall, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain. Over 120 landslides occurred on national highways under their management, provincial roads, and roads under the management of the Department of Construction, including National Highways 14C, 24B, 24C, 40B; Provincial Roads DT.622B, DT.622C… and the Ngoc Hoang - Mang But - Tu Mo Rong - Ngoc Linh road, with an estimated volume of approximately 11,950 m3; of which 5 locations caused road blockages and 1 location was flooded, causing road blockage at Km71+150; Km72; Km79+150 on National Highway 24C; and Km48+350 on Provincial Road DT.622B. The estimated damage due to landslides is 3.5 billion VND.

During an on-site inspection of the landslide causing traffic congestion at Km 71+150 on National Highway 24C in Thanh Bong commune, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, Nguyen Hoang Giang, praised the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Construction and the maintenance unit for their efforts in addressing the landslide and ensuring smooth traffic flow.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province emphasized that National Highway 24C is a very important transportation route. Inspections along the route revealed many serious landslides, with large chunks of earth and rocks appearing on the road surface. Mechanical equipment is currently clearing the debris to ensure traffic flow. However, cracks have appeared on the slopes of National Highway 24C, posing a very high risk of landslides. Therefore, in addition to proactively clearing the earth and rocks on the road surface to ensure traffic flow, relevant forces need to coordinate according to the "four on-the-spot" principle, thoroughly understand the area, place warning signs at landslide locations, strengthen information dissemination, and proactively relocate residents in landslide-prone areas to safe locations.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province stated that the provincial leadership understands and shares the difficulties faced by people in mountainous areas due to adverse conditions caused by heavy rains and landslides.

According to Mai Van Ha, Deputy Director of the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Construction, the Department has initially directed the contractor responsible for regular road maintenance to proactively advance funds and mobilize machinery and equipment to be present day and night at the site to clear landslides, cut down fallen trees, and open one lane of traffic at locations blocked on national highways under its management, provincial roads, and roads under the Department of Construction's management as quickly as possible. Simultaneously, they are coordinating with local authorities to organize patrols and guide people and vehicles at traffic congestion points, dangerous locations, and areas at risk of landslides.

The Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province has requested the Ministry of Construction , the Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Road Administration to allocate funds to address the consequences of natural disasters and ensure traffic flow in phases 1 and 2 on affected roads. At the same time, it requests the People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones to proactively monitor and organize the repair of roads affected by landslides; prepare forces, equipment, and materials to immediately handle landslides, fallen trees, and promptly address incidents to ensure smooth traffic flow on the roads under their management.
