Ms. Ngo Thi Tuyet Suong - Director of Quality Management of VNVC Vaccination System - said that when implementing the vaccination campaign, VNVC puts safety first, first of all the factors of vaccine preservation and transportation.
According to Ms. Tuyet Suong, if vaccines are not transported and stored safely according to strict GSP standards, their quality will not be guaranteed. Thus, the efforts to implement the measles vaccination campaign will be wasted, when the vaccine cannot create good protection, not to mention affecting the safety and health of children when vaccinated.
"VNVC's specialized refrigerated trucks transporting GSP-standard vaccines will go to district health centers to receive measles vaccines distributed by the City. The quality management and vaccine logistics team will strictly control from the time the vaccines are handed over, throughout the transportation journey and to the specialized cold storage of VNVC centers. Only then will the first safe stage of the vaccine be ensured," Ms. Tuyet Suong added.
VNVC uses refrigerated trucks to transport vaccines that meet GSP standards and are assessed and recognized by health authorities to receive vaccine sources from district and county health centers to ensure vaccine quality and safety for vaccinated children.
VNVC has the strength of being the city's leading system of large vaccination service centers, including 39 centers, 2,000 doctors, nurses, and medical staff, with a capacity to serve tens of thousands of injections per day. Doctor Bach Thi Chinh - Medical Director of VNVC Vaccination System - said that the unit can organize hundreds of mobile vaccination teams to schools and residential areas with a highly safe vaccination process. From September 1, 2024 to now, VNVC has deployed more than 30,000 doses of various measles vaccines to protect the health of children in the area.
In addition to achieving the target of vaccine coverage, VNVC pays special attention to ensuring safe vaccination and high efficiency in preventing measles. VNVC standardizes the quality of vaccination expertise in all centers; ensures the safety of quality vaccination; professional skills of screening doctors and highly skilled vaccination nurses; fully equips functional rooms and rooms for handling post-vaccination reactions; and a vaccine preservation system that meets high quality standards.
100% of VNVC vaccination centers invest in on-site cold storage systems and cold chains that meet GSP standards according to international standards, along with at least 3 backup power sources, ensuring strict safety of vaccines.
In particular, VNVC is a pioneer in building and developing an international quality vaccine cold chain network, with extremely large, high-quality vaccine storage warehouses, with general cold storages in the three regions of North, Central and South, hundreds of central cold storages, cold transport vehicles, specialized vaccine storage cabinets - all of which are recognized as meeting international GSP standards, assessed and recognized by health authorities. 100% of VNVC vaccination centers nationwide are fully equipped with this cold chain, so at the same time, VNVC can store up to 400 million doses of vaccine at a standard temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius, meeting the vaccination needs of tens of millions of customers and is capable of reserving a full quantity of vaccines according to the customer's protocol at VNVC.
100% of children eligible for free measles vaccination when coming to VNVC will undergo a safe 8-step vaccination process. Children's vaccination information will be stored on the national vaccination information system and the VNVC vaccination application.
Parents take their children to get free measles vaccination at VNVC Phong Phu, Binh Chanh district, morning of September 16.
"VNVC also commits to being ready to support facilities, medical supplies, and mobilize staff to join the city in preventing measles. VNVC's activities also demonstrate social responsibility, joining hands with the whole country to repel the epidemic and protect the health of millions of people," said Dr. Chinh.
Dr. Chinh added that the VNVC system currently has nearly 200 vaccination centers nationwide; 39 centers in Ho Chi Minh City have all types of measles vaccines as well as other dangerous diseases in children and adults. VNVC also has combined measles-mumps-rubella vaccines including Priorix (Belgium) and MMR II (USA), improving the effectiveness of preventing many diseases in one injection and saving costs, reducing the number of vaccinations. These vaccines can be given to children from 9 months old and adults.
According to VNVC, since Ho Chi Minh City announced the measles epidemic and many localities recorded cases, the number of adults and children vaccinated against the disease has increased. From September 1 to September 14, Ho Chi Minh City alone showed a 300% increase in vaccinations compared to the same period last month.
VNVC has invested heavily in a system of 4 general warehouses, nearly 200 cold storage warehouses for preserving vaccines that meet GSP international standards, and strict quality control and monitoring systems nationwide.
In addition to supporting the measles vaccination campaign, VNVC also strives to provide adequate vaccines in the context of complicated epidemic developments, frequent rains and floods from now until the end of the year, causing many diseases to be at risk of outbreak such as flu, chickenpox, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, etc.
VNVC is currently applying many preferential price policies to help people prevent diseases in time, such as supporting pre-vaccination packages, paying the cost later for up to 12 months, all interest rates are supported by VNVC, helping people pay flexibly, reducing economic burden.
The vaccine used in the campaign is the measles-rubella vaccine (MRVAC) produced in Vietnam, the vaccine source is from the city budget and the Ministry of Health . The vaccination target is all children from 1-10 years old who have not received 2 doses of measles vaccine or have unknown vaccination history and live in Ho Chi Minh City. People can take their children to any VNVC vaccination center in the area to get vaccinated for free but still enjoy the full safe and professional vaccination service of VNVC.
