In the past few days, storm No. 3 ( Yagi ) with very strong intensity has made landfall and caused heavy damage to people and property in the northern regions. Many power projects of the Northern Power Corporation have suffered extremely heavy damage caused by the storm.
The circulation after storm No. 3 caused heavy rain and flooding in 17 northern provinces (Yen Bai, Bac Giang , Lang Son, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Tuyen Quang, Bac Ninh, Bac Kan, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen and Hai Duong) causing power outages for many customers.
In addition to damage to the power grid, many areas were flooded so deeply that they had to be temporarily isolated from operation to ensure electrical safety for customers.
After a week Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi) passed, with the highest determination and tireless efforts, the participation of the entire political system, the Northern Power Corporation mobilized 100% of its human resources, organized 40 shock teams to handle and fix the problem day and night. The Northern Power Corporation's power grid is gradually being restored.
As of 6:00 a.m. on September 14, The Northern Power Corporation has restored 1,604/1,678 power lines/branches and restored power to more than 5.83 million customers out of a total of about 6.1 million customers affected by storms and floods (equivalent to a rate of more than 94.49%).
According to the Northern Power Corporation, as of the morning of September 13, 5 power companies have completed restoring power to customers affected by storm No. 3, including: Nam Dinh, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Hoa Binh, and Ha Giang.
