Wear long veil, red dress
Wearing 1990s clothes, old-fashioned makeup, choosing a dragon and phoenix gate, and equipping themselves with a 67 motorbike from that time, Ngo Van Thuan (born in 1996) and Dang Thi Ngoc Ha (born in 2001, both from Can Tho ) completely recreated their parents' wedding in the past.
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Ngo Van Thuan said he wanted his wedding day to be more special so he searched for ideas everywhere.
Thuan suddenly thought of his parents’ wedding. Back then, the bride wore a long veil, a red ao dai with gold motifs, a lace cape, and a gold necklace… The groom wore a silver-gray suit with shiny fabric. The dragon and phoenix wedding gate was made of coconut leaves and fruit trees in the garden.
He asked his wife for her opinion and she agreed. However, he decided not to tell his family and neighbors in advance because he wanted to surprise them. As for his friends, when they heard this idea, they all supported and responded positively.
"We modeled the outfit after the bride's parents' wedding outfit. The couple was lucky to find a rental place that still had costumes from the 2000s. We even borrowed his 67 car as a highlight. The guests who attended the wedding were very excited and gave many compliments on this idea," he said.

The groom said that dragon and phoenix wedding gates made of coconut leaves are becoming popular again. However, in the countryside, very few couples still use that type of gate, instead using flower gates for a more modern and beautiful look. Thuan felt happy because his wedding was one of the first to be decorated with a traditional coconut leaf gate in the area where he lives.
"Through this wedding, I want to recall the atmosphere of old weddings. Every time I look at old photos, I always feel nostalgic and emotional," he shared.

According to groom Thuan, couples who want to recreate an old wedding should brainstorm with friends. In addition, the bride and groom need to look for costumes early, because old wedding costumes are quite difficult to find nowadays.
