Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade has announced the Lunar New Year bonus for 2025. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoan, Principal of the school, said that based on the internal spending regulations approved at the conference of employees, the school will implement an equal bonus of 25 million VND/person.

According to the Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, employees who have worked for a year or more, including those studying abroad or during maternity leave, will receive a Tet bonus of the above amount. In addition, the school will give an additional 3 million VND/person at the beginning of the new year.

"During the year, each person receives a different salary depending on their position and job, so when giving out Tet bonuses, the school agrees on a common level to make everyone excited," Associate Professor, Dr. Hoan said.

Thus, this year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade will apply the same Tet bonus level as last year. With about 800 employees, this university plans to spend more than 20 billion VND in Tet bonuses.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education also plans to have the lowest Tet bonus this year, equal to last year. Accordingly, last year, each staff and lecturer received one month's income and 25 million VND.

Tet bonus includes many items

Another public university in Ho Chi Minh City has approved the level of additional income and Lunar New Year bonus for the year of the Snake 2025. The Lunar New Year bonus includes the bonus for completing tasks for the school year and the bonus based on seniority. Of which, the bonus is 35 million VND/person, the bonus for completing tasks is 15 million VND/person. In addition, the bonus is also calculated based on seniority, with 500,000 VND/year of work. Not taking into account the coefficient according to job position, the lowest fixed bonus for this Tet holiday is 50 million VND/person.

According to Decree 60/2021 of the Government , the financial results of the year are allocated by the school to 4 funds, including: career development, income supplement, rewards and welfare, and other funds. After establishing the 4 funds, the remaining difference between revenue and expenditure is added to the career development fund. Schools have ensured that all or part of regular expenses are allocated 1.5-3 months of salary and wages in the year to the reward and welfare fund. The amount of salary and wages that schools often pay on the occasion of Lunar New Year is called Tet bonus.
