During her visit and work in Vietnam, on August 15, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand visited Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary School, Dong Ha City (Quang Tri), where the project "Improving the quality of life for children and adolescents in the Asia- Pacific region" sponsored by the Princess Foundation is being implemented.
According to the school's report, after participating in the project "Improving the quality of life for children and adolescents in the Asia- Pacific region" in August 2023, the school's staff, teachers and employees have applied a lot of useful knowledge to the teaching and learning process.

In March 2024, the school welcomed a delegation from the Royal Thai Princess Project Office to visit and organize skills training activities for teachers and students on: static hydroponic vegetable growing; bean sprout growing, fertilizer making, school health consultation, boarding kitchen... The school has implemented activities by establishing the "I love agriculture " club, attracting a large number of students, teachers and parents to participate. The activities have helped students experience and practice to encourage their love of nature as well as educate them on life skills.
At the meeting, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhon of Thailand presented gifts to the school. The gifts included 5 desktop computers; 2 water bottles; school supplies; physical education and sports equipment; and books to support teaching and learning at the school. The gifts contributed to motivating and encouraging teachers and students before the new school year, while helping the school continue to improve the quality of teaching and comprehensive education for students.

The Thai Princess and the delegation visited the school's facilities and expressed their satisfaction when visiting the medical room; the reading experience area outside the school yard; the award ceremony for drawing pictures of the dream vegetable garden; the project's green vegetable garden; the school's small planning activity area (collecting and classifying garbage); the library; the kitchen area and visiting a classroom.
The project “Improving the quality of life for children and adolescents in the Asia-Pacific region” sponsored by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is implemented to raise public awareness of improving the quality of life for children, ensuring students develop physically and mentally; providing a portion of green vegetables and meat, fish, and eggs for students’ lunches at school. The project also teaches students skills in vegetable care, poultry raising (chickens, geese, ducks); teaches them life skills such as self-care, personal hygiene and environmental sanitation - green - clean - beautiful.
At the invitation of Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Princess of the Kingdom of Thailand Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited and worked in Vietnam from August 13 to 15. At a meeting with Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan on August 13, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn said that the Thai Royal Family is very interested in implementing community support projects in Vietnam. She affirmed that she will continue to pay attention to, develop and expand the project "Improving the quality of life for children and adolescents in the Asia-Pacific region" in Vietnam, contributing to the development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was born in 1955, the third child of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and the younger sister of the King of Thailand Maha Vajiralongkorn. The princess has visited Vietnam many times since 1993; she has a lot of affection for Vietnam and has implemented a number of charity and educational projects in Vietnam. In March 2024, at Chulalongkorn University, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn wore Vietnamese ao dai and performed the song "Vietnam is at peace" with the lyrics written by the Princess herself, along with a famous Thai orchestra. The Princess also took many photos of Vietnam during her visits to Vietnam from 1993-2003. From these documents, the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand compiled the photo book "Vietnam through the lens of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn", including 100 photos expressing the Princess's affection for Vietnam. |
