Hasfarm Holdings (parent company of Dalat Hasfarm fresh flower chain) has just announced an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Lynch Group, a flower company listed on the ASX stock exchange in Australia.
Under the agreement, Lynch shareholders will receive 2.245 AUD per share, excluding previously authorized dividends. The total transaction value is estimated at about 270 million AUD, equivalent to nearly 4,531 billion VND. The deal is still awaiting shareholder approval and an independent evaluation report confirms that this is the most beneficial option for shareholders.
Late last year, Texas Pacific Group (TPG) - a private equity firm headquartered in the US - invested in Hasfarm Holdings.
Sharing about this deal, Mr. Joel Thickins - Co-Director of TPG Asia - shared: "The acquisition of Lynch Group is a step in line with TPG's strategy of building market-leading companies, based on expertise and regional scale. Since investing in Hasfarm, TPG has been looking for merger opportunities like Lynch to contribute to building a strong fresh flower production platform in the center of global development."
Dalat Hasfarm added that it will support Lynch in building a production, distribution and logistics platform, especially in the Chinese market. This will create cost advantages based on scale, while also providing stability for employees, customers and suppliers. Dalat Hasfarm's production operations will ensure a more stable supply for Lynch's customers, especially retailers in the land of kangaroos.
