Jeannie Rice, a Korean-American athlete, became a phenomenon in the world of running when she continuously broke age records.

In 2022, she completed the Chicago Marathon in 3 hours and 33 minutes, a feat that many young people find difficult to achieve. What has attracted the most public attention is the special diet and training regimen that has helped her maintain her form at the age of nearly 80.

In daily life, Jeannie Rice follows a simple but scientific diet.

Breakfast is usually oatmeal with fresh fruit, with a few nuts added for extra energy. For lunch, she favors a green salad with chicken or fish, while dinner is light with steamed vegetables and a lean protein.

What's special is that she almost says "no" to red meat and sweets, and limits alcohol as much as possible. Occasionally, Rice allows herself to enjoy some cheese or biscuits to balance her mind, but absolutely does not indulge.

Along with nutrition, Rice maintains a regular training schedule like a professional athlete. On average, she runs about 80km per week, alternating between long runs, speed runs and easy runs. She believes that training discipline is more important than any supporting equipment. "Running every day is my secret to staying young," she once shared on Runner's World.

Not only is Jeannie Rice a role model in sports , she also sends a strong message about healthy living.

At an age when many people choose to rest, she still chooses jogging as an essential part of life. Experts say it is the close combination of clean nutrition, enough sleep and discipline that helps her maintain her form over time.

Jeannie Rice's story is a living proof that age is just a number. With willpower, perseverance and a healthy lifestyle, people can completely overcome their limits and even do things that seem impossible.

Jeannie Rice's Notable Achievements

Jeannie Rice has completed all six Major Marathons: Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York and Tokyo, adding the Sydney Marathon when it was recognized.

In each event, she won the 75-79 age group. Notably, Jeannie Rice set the world record for the 70-74 age group with 3 hours 24 minutes 48 seconds at Berlin 2019, and the record for the 75-79 age group with 3 hours 33 minutes 27 seconds at London 2024.

In 2025, she continued to impress when completing the Sydney Marathon with a time of 3 hours 37 minutes 48 seconds.
