On October 26, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang city issued an official dispatch to the People's Committees of wards, communes, schools, centers under the department, vocational training institutions and private universities on proactively responding to bad weather.
Accordingly, based on the actual situation in the locality, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the ward, commune and the heads of schools and centers are authorized to decide to let preschool children, students and trainees take time off from school when necessary.
The Department requires units to strictly implement instructions on natural disaster prevention and control, ensuring safety for teachers, workers, students and school property.
While students are still at school, schools must arrange teachers, administrators, and caretakers to prevent unsafe situations from occurring.
Boarding and semi-boarding schools for ethnic minorities need to strengthen management and not allow students to leave when weather conditions are not suitable.

Vocational education institutions, universities and private schools are free to decide students' schedules.
The Department of Education and Training also encourages schools to develop online teaching and learning plans, assign lessons or provide instructions via clips when students cannot go to school due to floods.
