'Boost' to develop logistics in Hai Duong

Hai Duong is located in the economic triangle of Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh, in the central position connecting localities in the Red River Delta. With many key traffic routes running through such as National Highways 5, 18, 37, 38, Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway..., Hai Duong is considered a locality with great potential to become a place connecting economic trade and logistics center in the Red River Delta.

In the orientation for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, Hai Duong has 33 industrial parks with a total area of ​​5,661 hectares, 61 industrial clusters with an area of ​​3,209 hectares, developing a specialized economic zone located south of the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway in the two districts of Binh Giang and Thanh Mien. By 2030, Hai Duong plans to form 8 logistics centers in Hai Duong city, Kinh Mon town and the districts of Binh Giang, Kim Thanh, Thanh Ha, Gia Loc, Cam Giang, Ninh Giang with a total area of ​​nearly 190 hectares.

In recent times, relevant authorities and localities in the province have focused on promoting investment in logistics centers combined with inland waterway ports and railway stations to gradually form a freight transit hub between roads, railways and inland waterways, in which they have paid attention to calling for and attracting investors to deploy logistics centers and inland waterway ports in Kinh Mon town, Ninh Giang district. On February 28, 2025, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province approved the investment policy and approved investors to implement the Project of Logistics Service Center, Petroleum and Cargo Port, Petroleum Depot, and Commercial Service Area in Minh Hoa Commune (Kinh Mon). This project is an important step forward, supporting the journey to realize the orientation of building Hai Duong into a logistics center of the Red River Delta.

People of Minh Hoa commune (Kinh Mon) are looking forward to the project of Logistics Service Center, Petroleum and Goods Port, Petroleum Depot, and Commercial Service Area to be implemented soon in the locality.

The above project is invested by Duc Duong Company Limited, covering an area of ​​over 36 hectares, with a total investment of over VND 1,687 billion. This is the domestic investment project with the largest total investment capital from the beginning of 2025 to the present in the province.

Implementing this project, Duc Duong Company Limited will build a logistics service center providing comprehensive and high-quality services in receiving and storing goods, supervising consignments, customs services, prioritizing container ports, import and export goods, agricultural products, bulk materials (coal, ore, construction materials of all kinds...); build an inland waterway port (capable of receiving ships with a tonnage of less than 3,000 tons) to serve the import and export of gasoline and goods; build a mixed commercial service area.

The project has a customs clearance scale of about 70,000 TEU/year. Construction of an inland waterway port including 3 wharves with a capacity of 2 million tons/year. Investment in construction of a petroleum depot with a scale of 48,000 m ^3. Mixed commercial service area including: office area, commercial services, restaurants, accommodation services... with a total area of ​​about 51,205 m ² .

Currently, Kinh Mon town is clearing land for the project, with a total of 244 households involved. Of these, 198 households have agricultural land, 24 households have converted agricultural land, and 22 households have contracted public land (for perennial crops and aquaculture) with land within the scope of the project. By April 9, the authorities had inventoried the current status of 171 households, made public plans for 171 households, and completed payments to 144 households. Kinh Mon town strives to complete the project site clearance this April.

Open up great opportunities

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam, General Director of Duc Duong Company Limited, after the locality hands over the clean site, the investor will promptly take the next steps to invest in the project. It is expected that the project will start construction in mid-May; striving to complete the project and put it into operation by the fourth quarter of 2027.

A total of 244 households in Minh Hoa commune have land within the project scope.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan, Secretary of the Minh Hoa Commune Party Committee (Kinh Mon) said that the Logistics Service Center Project, Petroleum and Goods Port, Petroleum Depot, and Commercial Service Area is the largest project ever invested in and built in Minh Hoa. From the first days of hearing information about the project, local officials and people were very excited.

Minh Hoa Commune is located in the southeast of Kinh Mon town, bordering Thuy Nguyen City, An Duong District (Hai Phong City) to the east, Thai Thinh Ward and Hien Thanh Ward (Kinh Mon) to the west. Minh Hoa Commune is surrounded by nearly 12 km of river, one of the localities with the longest river in the province. From that location and characteristics, a developed waterway network has been formed, creating conditions for the development of Minh Hoa's water transport and ship repair and building industries. The water transport industry has created a source of income and created many jobs for workers inside and outside the commune.

According to Ms. Nhan, this project is invested in construction to promote local advantages and create many job opportunities, increase income for people, contributing to socio-economic development not only for Minh Hoa commune, but also Kinh Mon town.

Mr. Truong Van Tuan, Secretary of Ngoai village Party cell, Minh Hoa commune, said that the villagers were very excited and wholeheartedly supported the project. Right from the first days of the project implementation in the locality, some villagers and commune residents have found new job opportunities such as security guards, drivers, etc. When the project is implemented and completed, there will be many other job opportunities for the people. Certainly, the project will also contribute to the development of other local business services.

“The project of Logistics Service Center, Petroleum and Goods Port, Petroleum Depot, Commercial Service Area together with the Investment Project to build the road connecting National Highway 17B (Hai Duong) with Provincial Road 352 (Hai Phong City) from National Highway 17B to Kinh Thay River Dike is about to start construction, creating a new look for Minh Hoa, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality,” said Mr. Tuan.
