The highways where the Traffic Police organize propaganda and guide traffic regulation include Noi Bai - Lao Cai, Hai Phong - Mong Cai, Bac Giang - Lang Son, Cau Gie - Cao Bo, Da Nang - Quang Ngai, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong.

According to the Traffic Police Department, the Traffic Police will provide guidance at toll stations, using mobile patrol cars to broadcast propaganda and guide traffic regulation in the direction of 29-seat passenger cars and trucks of 7.5 tons or more to enter the right lane in the direction of travel (the lane with lower speed); the remaining lane, close to the median strip, will be reserved for cars, trucks under 7.5 tons and passenger cars under 29 seats.

This is to prevent slow-moving vehicles from sticking to the left lane, causing traffic congestion, reducing road efficiency, and preventing and reducing traffic accidents on highways.

Previously, based on the request of the Traffic Police Department, the Vietnam Road Administration issued a decision approving the adjustment and supplementation of the pilot traffic organization plan for lane division and speed regulation on the Hanoi- Hai Phong and Phap Van-Cau Gie expressways. In phase 1, for the Phap Van-Cau Gie expressway, lane 1 has a maximum speed of 100km/h, a minimum speed of 80km/h, and all types of trucks are prohibited from circulating (except single-cabin and double-cabin pickup trucks; specialized trucks; cash transport vehicles; specialized vehicles). Lane 2, maximum speed of 100km/h; minimum speed of 70km/h. Lane 3, maximum speed of 100km/h; minimum speed of 60km/h.

For the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, lane 1 has a maximum speed of 120km/h; the minimum speed is 90km/h, prohibiting all types of trucks from circulating (except single-cabin and double-cabin pickup trucks; specialized trucks; cash transport vehicles; specialized vehicles). Lane 2 has a maximum speed of 120km/h; the minimum speed is 80km/h. Lane 3 has a maximum speed of 100km/h; the minimum speed is 60km/h.

After 25 days of piloting lane division and banning trucks from entering the lane close to the median strip of the Phap Van - Cau Gie and Hanoi - Hai Phong expressways (from August 15 to present), this policy has received high approval from traffic participants. Most vehicle owners have grasped the new traffic organization plan and complied with the regulations. Starting from 0:00 on September 9, the Traffic Police Department will organize penalties for violations combined with propaganda to improve the effectiveness of compliance with the new traffic organization and lane division plan.
