The event is within the framework of the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2025 period, practically responding to the National Great Unity Day (November 18) and welcoming the success of the 15th Lai Chau Provincial Party Congress. This is not only a trade promotion activity, but also a unique cultural and economic festival of ethnic minorities in the Northern mountainous region.

Speaking about the significance of the program, Mr. Tran Huu Linh, Director of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) emphasized: “The festival is an important opportunity to promote supply-demand connection, promote regional products, support businesses and cooperatives to improve production capacity, build brands, and expand sustainable distribution channels. The Ministry of Industry and Trade always accompanies localities in bringing highland agricultural products closer to consumers nationwide and towards export”.
This year's festival is organized on a regional scale, aiming to enhance the value of agricultural products in the northern mountainous region, creating a bridge for local businesses to access larger markets, especially through modern e-commerce and distribution channels.

Within the framework of the program, there will be many rich activities such as: Opening Ceremony of the Festival of products of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in the North, Conference connecting trade between suppliers in the Northwest region and export enterprises, along with a display space of over 50 booths introducing OCOP products, local specialties, agricultural products, cuisine and handicrafts.
In particular, the online sales livestream activity on the TikTok Shop platform will introduce and promote Lai Chau's typical products such as Lai Chau ginseng, ancient tea, cordyceps, Séng Cù rice, dried meat, dong vermicelli, ginseng... demonstrating the digital transformation trend in trade promotion, helping highland agricultural products directly reach consumers nationwide.
The festival is expected to attract about 150 central and local delegates, especially from the northern mountainous provinces, along with many businesses, cooperatives and KOLs/KOCs in the fields of e-commerce and consumption.
Mr. Vuong The Man, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Lai Chau province, said: “The festival not only has economic significance but also has a rich cultural identity. This is an opportunity for the northern mountainous provinces to introduce and promote their typical products, connect trade, and contribute to increasing income for people, especially ethnic minorities in the highlands.”
With close coordination between the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development and the Lai Chau Department of Industry and Trade, and the support of localities, the Northern Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas Product Festival 2025 promises to become a highlight in the socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
