Handing over the site of the North-South Expressway Project in the West

The North-South Expressway project in the West, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section, has a total length of 101.22 km, with a total reclaimed area of more than 940 hectares. The section passing through Binh Phuoc ward alone has a length of 13.823 km, an area of 126.35 hectares, involving 931 plots of land; of which, there are 864 plots of land owned by organizations, households and individuals.

With the motto "90 days and nights of lightning speed, determination and efficiency", the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc Ward has launched a competition to complete the 90-day and night plan to implement the work of land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement of the North-South Expressway Project, West section, Gia Nghia (Lam Dong) - Chon Thanh ( Dong Nai ), the section passing through Binh Phuoc Ward.

According to Chairman of Binh Phuoc Ward People's Committee Ngo Hong Khang, to speed up the progress of site clearance, Binh Phuoc Ward Party Committee has established a Steering Committee for compensation and site clearance mobilization and assigned specific tasks. Thanks to the drastic participation and close propaganda and mobilization, up to now, Binh Phuoc Ward has agreed to hand over the site early with a total length of about 4km.

Chairman of Binh Phuoc Ward People's Committee Ngo Hong Khang affirmed that households and individuals who handed over the site early for the project are typical examples, putting the common interest above personal interest, creating a great driving force for site clearance. The locality commends and recognizes this pioneering spirit, and hopes that the spirit of consensus in handing over the site in advance will spread and be replicated to all remaining households and individuals.

Mr. Ngo Hong Khang suggested: The Ward People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the Ward and socio -political organizations need to coordinate closely to promote propaganda and mobilize each household to hand over the site early to implement the project. In particular, households that hand over the site early need to be commended to spread positive support among all people. In the coming time, the Ward will continue to approve plans, disburse money as approved and mobilize people to hand over the site to ensure the proposed progress. Currently, the Ward People's Committee, together with the Dong Xoai Area Land Fund Development Center and the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, are coordinating to organize and prepare to mobilize the handover of the site.

Previously, at the launching ceremony of the emulation movement to complete the 90-day and night plan to implement the land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement of the North-South Expressway Project in the West, Gia Nghia (Lam Dong) - Chon Thanh (Dong Nai), the section passing through Binh Phuoc ward, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Binh Phuoc Ward Party Committee Giang Thi Phuong Hanh said that the Ward Party Committee has identified the tasks of site clearance as always the key step to create a clean land fund to attract investment in the construction of project works serving the goal of socio-economic development.

Binh Phuoc Ward aims to strive to basically complete the target of approving the compensation, support and resettlement plan for component project 5 by December 2025. The consensus and support of the people is the "key" for the locality to soon complete the set goal, creating the most favorable conditions for the national key expressway project to be implemented according to the set schedule.

According to Resolution No. 138/2024/QH15 dated June 28, 2024 of the National Assembly on the investment policy of the North-South Expressway Construction Investment Project, Western section, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh, the route has a scale of 6 lanes in the completed phase, with a roadbed width of 32.25m, and a design speed of 120 km/h.

During the investment phase, the project is invested with a scale of 4 complete expressway lanes, road width of 24.75m. Total investment is over 25,800 billion VND.

The project is of special importance, not only for Dong Nai and Lam Dong provinces but also for the entire Central Highlands and Southeast regions. This expressway will act as a strategic connection axis, ensuring national defense and security in the Central Highlands region, as well as closely linking with Ho Chi Minh City - the most dynamic economic center of the country.

Once completed, this expressway will connect with the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway, connecting to Ring Road 3 and Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City, creating development momentum for the Central Highlands and Southeast regions, expanding urban and industrial space.

This project also contributes to realizing the target of 5,000 km of highways set by the Party and Government in the 2021 - 2030 period.
