Midnight confrontation about dirty food in school in Da Lat

(NLDO) - The principal of TV Primary School (Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat) confirmed that there was an importation of poor quality food.

On the evening of September 18, many parents of TV Primary School (Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong Province) when they heard that local authorities were having a meeting with the school, came to request to attend the meeting.

However, many people were upset because they were not allowed to attend the meeting, so they waited outside, requesting a meeting with relevant parties including the Board of Directors, representatives of the parents' association and the ward People's Committee.

Parents want confrontation about importing poor quality food

At around 7:00 p.m. the same day, after a waiting period, the parents began a conversation with Ms. Nguyen Thai Quynh Nga, Principal of TV Primary School , and Mr. Nguyen Mau Ha - Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat.

Notably, the exchange had the presence of Ms. T. – who posted information denouncing the import of substandard food at TV Primary School – on social media.

During the discussion, the parents asked the school leaders to confirm whether Ms. T.'s accusations were true or not. Did they know that poor quality food had been imported into the school many times? Was this poor quality food cooked for the students? If the poor quality food was cooked for the students, who would be responsible?

Whistleblower: "If I say something untrue, I will take responsibility"

At the beginning of the discussion, Ms. Nga apologized to the parents for letting the incident happen. She confirmed that the problem of poor quality food entering the school did happen.

"It happened in the kitchen but we handled it by not allowing students to use that food," said Ms. Nga.

The female principal confirmed that the incident is being investigated and verified by the authorities; when there are official results, parents will be informed as soon as possible.

Present here, Ms. T. (the person who posted the complaint, used to work as a cook at TV Primary School , now retired) stood up to confront and affirmed that the poor quality food imported into the school was cooked and the students were "fed" and not destroyed.

"Because of my conscience and morality, I cannot hide this for myself. If I say something untrue, I will take responsibility before the law," Ms. T. affirmed.

Ms. T. added that she and some other people working in the school kitchen had submitted a complaint about the incident to the authorities since August 11, but so far it has not been processed.

Regarding the issue of dismissal at TV Primary School , Ms. T. said that the dismissal of the old kitchen team (those who filed a complaint) was completely unexpected, because the kitchen team had wanted to have a meeting (to clarify the issue of poor quality food being brought into the kitchen - PV) but the principal did not allow the meeting. Only when the kitchen team sent a petition to the Party Cell and the school intervened did they get the meeting.

Ms. T. stated that their contract expired on May 31 because of the annual contract, but they were not summoned to a meeting until June 2.

"After presenting the shady issues, all the teachers in the school now know the truth that they were also "fed" (poor quality food - PV) but before that they had absolutely no idea; there were times when we also ate without us knowing" - Ms. T. said.

Parents will be notified of test results.

Mr. Nguyen Mau Ha, Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, said that tonight's meeting is for local authorities to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of teachers and parents' associations related to the incident.

He affirmed that the locality will definitely handle the matter to the end, with reason and compassion, and that any violations will be handled accordingly, and whoever is at fault will have to take responsibility.

Parents want to confront the TV Primary School Board.

Regarding the complaint about the import of poor quality food at TV Primary School that was sent to the ward earlier, Mr. Ha said that the ward had received the complaint and immediately invited the complainants to work. However, because this was a collective complaint - many people signed the complaint, the complainants had to be asked to nominate one person to sign the complaint - because if it is a complaint, someone must be responsible if the complaint is false.

After giving instructions to the petitioners, the ward continued to invite the petitioners to work, requesting to provide relevant documents to have enough basis for consideration and settlement. Many accusations related to food in TV Primary School

As reported by the Lao Dong Newspaper , a complaint has recently appeared on social media accusing TV Primary School of importing food that does not ensure the health safety of students. The complaint alleges that the food supplier to TV Primary School repeatedly provided food that did not meet quality standards, lasting from the end of 2024 to April 2025.

In the 2025-2026 school year, the school will have 1,700 students, including 700 boarding students. After this information appeared on social media, many parents were confused; some came to pick up their children and did not let them eat at school.

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has assigned Xuan Huong Ward People's Committee - Da Lat to urgently coordinate with relevant units to clarify information related to the suspicion of importing substandard food into TV Primary School .
