On October 29, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Park organized the final round of the Innovation Competition in the field of high-tech agriculture in 2023.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Park, said that in 2022, the city's agricultural production value reached VND 19,035 billion, an increase of 3.78% over the previous year; the average production value is estimated at VND 570 million/ha, an increase of 14.5%.
Currently, with the rapid urbanization, agricultural land is increasingly shrinking. The city's agricultural sector is shifting towards urban agriculture, applying high technology, biotechnology, and producing plant varieties suitable for the city's conditions.

To develop sustainably, agriculture needs to catch up with the green growth trend. This year's competition focuses on developing green and sustainable agriculture.
After more than 5 months, the contest has received enthusiastic support from more than 15,000 interested and following views and nearly 100 registered projects. After 2 preliminary and semi-final rounds, the 10 best projects have reached the finals.

The winning projects will be realized, developed into businesses and participate in the incubation program at the High-tech Agricultural Business Incubation Center. Furthermore, the projects will attract investors and receive capital support from the “SpeedUp Innovation Startup Support Program” of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City.
Over the past 6 years, the competition has attracted nearly 100,000 followers and nearly 500 registered projects, of which, it has supported product incubation and commercialization for more than 35 businesses with nearly 200 products on the market.
