Former Barca player needed 6 stitches after dog attacked his genitals

Former Barca player Carles Perez (Aris Thessaloniki Club, Greece) had to be hospitalized and received 6 stitches after being bitten by a dog.

Reuters news agency reported that Carles Perez (27 years old) had an accident while walking his dog in Thermi (Greece) - where he lives. His pet dog was attacked by another dog. While trying to separate the two dogs, Carles Perez was violently attacked by the strange dog in the genitals.

Marca said Perez was taken to hospital in a "serious" condition, requiring surgery and six stitches.

Prime Sport and Trubuna site said   status of   Perez is stable and is in intensive care. Perez will need further reconstructive surgery and is not expected to return to action anytime soon.

On July 24, Perez played in the match where Aris Thessaloniki lost 1-2 to Araz-Nakhchivan (Azerbaijan) in the first leg of the 2025-2026 Europa Conference League 2nd qualifying round. Aris Thessaloniki will play the return match against Araz-Nakhchivan early tomorrow morning, August 1. And Perez's accident has left the whole team in shock.

According to Greek press, Aris Thessaloniki club is considering suing the owner of the dog that attacked Perez.

Carles Perez grew up in Barca's youth system. He made his debut for the Catalan club in 2019 and played 11 games for the club before moving to Roma, Celta Vigo, Getafe and then Aris Thessaloniki.
