The two turtles were discovered by Six Senses Con Dao staff while patrolling Dat Doc beach in front of the resort that morning, entangled in fishing nets. The Hawksbill turtle, measuring 28cmx23cm and weighing 8kg, was female and washed ashore at 5:14 a.m. The Green Turtle, measuring 20cmx16cm and weighing 2kg, was female and washed ashore at 9:07 a.m.
Immediately afterwards, Six Senses Con Dao security staff carried out the notification process to the nearest Con Dao National Park Ranger Station, and coordinated the rescue, removing the turtles from the net, checking their health, and releasing them back into the marine environment safely.
