Doctors at Nghe An General Hospital have just saved the life of a female patient who was in a traffic accident, suffering from hemorrhagic shock due to closed abdominal trauma, liver rupture and high risk of death.
On November 5, Nghe An General Hospital reported that Ms. NTO (born in 1989, residing in Ha Tinh ) was admitted to the hospital with pale skin, pale mucous membranes, blood pressure of 90/60, using vasopressors, draining the abdomen with heavy bleeding, and an abdominal incision with a white line in the middle above the navel 35cm long. Realizing the critical condition, the doctors held a consultation and then performed surgery to save the patient.

Doctors are checking Ms. O's health after surgery.
"After about 2 hours of surgery to remove the liver, stop bleeding, and drain the gallbladder, Ms. O was successfully treated. During the surgery, the patient was continuously transfused with 3,000 ml of packed red blood cells and 1,000 ml of fresh frozen plasma, and given vasopressors," said Dr. Nguyen Huy Toan, Deputy Head of the Department of General Surgery, Nghe An General Hospital.
"When my wife had an accident, she was taken to Ha Tinh General Hospital for emergency treatment. There, the doctors informed me that my wife's condition was very serious, which made me extremely worried and confused. After being treated at Nghe An General Hospital, my wife was saved," Mr. H., Ms. O.'s husband, emotionally said.
Ms. O's health stabilized and she was discharged from the hospital.
On January 4, doctors from the General Surgery Department successfully performed surgery on a 32-year-old patient residing in Cam Binh Commune, Cam Xuyen District (Ha Tinh) who was transferred to the emergency room from Ha Tinh General Hospital with a diagnosis of hemorrhagic shock due to multiple injuries, grade 4-5 liver rupture with hemostatic packing/grade 4 right kidney rupture, and right colon muscle contusion.
The patient was discharged from the hospital in a comatose state, breathing through an endotracheal tube, pale skin and mucous membranes, blood pressure 90/60 dependent on vasomotor, midline incision above and below the navel. Two abdominal drains released a lot of fresh blood.
After surgery, the patient was actively resuscitated using advanced techniques such as continuous blood filtration and dialysis. The patient's health is now stable again.
