Da Nang: Spending 200 billion VND to support people and recover from floods
Faced with the damage caused by the historic floods at the end of October, Da Nang City leaders have just agreed to spend 200 billion VND from the city budget to directly support affected people and repair essential infrastructure works.

Currently, Da Nang has identified the top priority as stabilizing people's lives and production. The city has directed localities, departments and branches to ensure adequate food, drinking water and necessities, with the motto "no one is left without food or clothing".
Da Nang's top priority is to ensure people's lives and focus on repairing infrastructure damaged by floods.
The amount of 200 billion VND will be used to support people who suffered damages according to regulations, and at the same time immediately repair essential infrastructure works such as transportation, electricity, water supply, environmental sanitation, healthcare, education ... to soon bring activities back to normal.
In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang city continues to receive and allocate support and donations from agencies, organizations and individuals inside and outside the city, ensuring timely and transparent support to the right subjects.
Da Nang City Police continue to persevere, stick together, and help people overcome the consequences of historic floods, while also supporting people in areas that are still isolated.
The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with communes and wards to review and count the damage, and summarize the need for financial support to serve the recovery work. Localities are required to mobilize local forces, use local budget reserves and other legal sources to ensure people's lives.
As soon as the damage statistics are complete (expected on November 1, 2025), the City People's Committee will report and request the Central Government to support funding for immediate remediation and long-term solutions. In particular, focusing on preventing coastal erosion in Hoi An, relocating and resettling people in mountainous areas at high risk of landslides, investing in appropriate transport infrastructure, electricity, schools and stations, improving disaster prevention and sustainable adaptation capabilities.
More than 400,000 households in the Central region have had electricity restored after floods.
After many days of heavy rain and floods that paralyzed the power system in many central provinces, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) said that by 7am this morning (November 1), it had restored power to more than 400,000 households, equivalent to 84% of the total number of affected households.
Thus, there are only more than 75,000 customers without electricity, accounting for 1.52% of the total number of customers of EVNCPC. The remaining power outage areas are mainly in the midlands and mountainous areas under 4 Power Companies including Da Nang, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Ngai.
The entire EVNCPC system has handled and restored 516/599 incidents, reaching more than 86% of the progress, with a total of 763 transformer stations still temporarily suspended due to deep flooding or unsafe power lines. The estimated load capacity loss is about 42 MW, equivalent to only 1.15% of the maximum capacity of the entire Central - Central Highlands region.
By 7:00 a.m. this morning (November 1), power supply had been restored to more than 400,000 households in the Central region.
In Da Nang Electricity Company alone, the most severely affected area, there are currently about 71,482 households (8.15%) and 717 transformer stations (6.98%) without electricity. The areas that have not been restored are mainly in low-lying, midland and mountainous communes such as Hoa Tien, Hoa Xuan, Nam Phuoc, Dai Loc, Nong Son, Que Son, Tra My, Nam Giang...
At Quang Tri Electricity Company, there are still 2,372 households (0.45%) and 17 substations (0.3%) without electricity, concentrated in the communes of Quang Trach, Trung Thuan and Ba Don.
At Hue Electricity Company, there are currently 1,008 households (0.29%) and 16 substations (0.53%), mainly in Thuan Hoa, Phong Thai and Phong Dinh areas of Hue City.
Quang Ngai Electricity Company still has 399 households (0.06%) and 13 substations (0.2%), mainly in the mountainous communes of Son Tay Ha, Son Ky, Tay Tra, Tra Bong and Dak Plo.
On the 110kV grid, there is currently one faulty line (Dak Mi 4 – Phuoc Son) and one customer line (double circuit Tra My – Song Tranh 2 breaker station) is isolated. The two 110kV stations Phuoc Son and Nam Tra My are still temporarily out of operation.
Da Nang Electricity Company said it is urgently inspecting and handling the scene to soon re-energize Phuoc Son 110kV station after completing the repair of the Dak Mi 4 - Phuoc Son 110kV line. Meanwhile, the load of Nam Tra My 110kV station has been partially supplied with electricity via the 472/TTG Nuoc Xa line.
