Da Nang welcomes nearly 3,500 tourists by cruise ship

According to a representative of the Da Nang Department of Tourism , this is one of the large ships and has a MICE group visiting and experiencing Da Nang. All security and safety issues have been discussed with the implementing units.

During their stay in Da Nang, tourists visit famous scenic spots and destinations of Da Nang such as Sun World Ba Na Hill Tourist Area, Ngu Hanh Son National Monument; experience city tours to explore local culture and cuisine, see the sea, Son Tra Peninsula... some guests choose to visit Hoi An ancient town ( Quang Nam ).

It is known that the Costa Serena cruise ship departed from Hong Kong port (China) and went straight to Tien Sa port, Da Nang.

A representative of the cruise company said that the cruise tourist season usually starts from October this year to April next year. The company mainly exploits tourists to the Central region. It is expected that this year's cruise season, the company will welcome about 50 cruise ships at both Tien Sa (Da Nang) and Chan May (Thua Thien Hue) ports.

The characteristic of cruise tourists is that their stay at the destination is not too long, and they like to experience culture, sightseeing, and shopping, so if possible, the city can soon add more large shopping centers to stimulate spending of this type of tourist.

According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, in 2024, the total number of overnight visitors is expected to reach 10.3 million, an increase of 39% compared to 2023. Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach 4.2 million, an increase of 2.1 times, domestic visitors are estimated to reach 6.1 million, an increase of 13%. In 2025, the total number of overnight visitors is expected to reach more than 10.5 million, an increase of 6% compared to 2024. Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach 4.3 million, an increase of 11%, domestic visitors are estimated to reach more than 6.2 million.
