Da Nang City was honored by the Ministry of Science and Technology as 'Outstanding City in Digital Transformation for the period 2020 - 2024'.

On October 21, within the framework of the program to celebrate National Digital Transformation Day 2025 held in Hanoi, Da Nang city was honored by the Ministry of Science and Technology as "Typical city of digital transformation in the period 2020 - 2024".

Speaking at the event, Mr. Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, emphasized that this is a great honor and pride of the city - always aspiring to rise up with knowledge, creativity and technology.

Mr. Buu said that in the period of 2020 - 2025, the city synchronously deployed many solutions and achieved outstanding results such as: 4 consecutive years (2021 - 2024) leading the country in digital transformation, in all three pillars: Digital Government - Digital Economy - Digital Society.

Da Nang is also the first locality to issue a thematic resolution and digital transformation project until 2025, with a vision to 2030.

Up to now, the city has 55% of public services online, three times the national average; 100% of administrative records are processed electronically; the City Data Center meets international Tier III standards - the digital infrastructure platform of a smart city.

The whole city has more than 3,000 enterprises supported in digital transformation; 52 high-tech projects invested in the High-Tech Park; digital economy accounts for more than 22% of GRDP.

Da Nang is the only city in the country to win the "Smart City" Award for four consecutive years. In 2023, it was honored to receive the International Award for People-Centered Smart Cities in Seoul (Korea).

At this event, the leaders of Da Nang city also expressed their hope that the Government and central ministries and branches will continue to support Da Nang in successfully implementing four key projects in the next 5 years, which are the science and technology project, the international innovation project, the city-wide digital transformation project, and the regional smart city project.

"For Da Nang, digital transformation is not only a task, but also a process of comprehensive innovation in thinking and action, aiming at the goal of taking people and businesses as the center and driving force for development," Mr. Buu emphasized.

The program to celebrate National Digital Transformation Day 2025 with the theme "Digital transformation: Faster - more effective - closer to the people", will summarize the national digital transformation journey in the period 2020 - 2025 and orient the next phase.

At the program, the Ministry of Science and Technology honored collectives and individuals with good, proactive, creative and decisive ways of doing things in the national digital transformation process. At the same time, it announced the results of the digital transformation level (DTI) ranking in 2024 of provinces and cities.
