On December 8, the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) announced that it had just coordinated with the University of Natural Sciences - Hanoi National University to organize the opening ceremony of a training program for semiconductor chip manufacturing engineers to prepare resources to operate Vietnam's first high-tech semiconductor chip manufacturing factory, a task assigned by the Government to the Ministry of National Defense and Viettel.

This is the first course gathering 20 engineers from the chip manufacturing division (Fab) of Viettel Semiconductor Center (VSI). By participating in the course, students will be equipped with a system of in-depth knowledge about chip manufacturing technology, skills in using and operating cleanroom equipment, and practice integrating production processes according to industrial standards.
The training program has a duration of nearly 300 hours, designed to ensure that students master both theoretical foundations and practical skills on modern equipment commonly used in the global semiconductor industry.
Viettel Group Deputy General Director Nguyen Vu Ha shared that building the first semiconductor factory is not only a technology project but also the country's aspiration in the journey to master core technology.

“The first semiconductor factory project will help Vietnam narrow the gap from the laboratory to reality, helping scientists, startups, and technology businesses turn ideas into products, and turn research into tangible contributions to the country. At the same time, it will open a semiconductor ecosystem where a generation of Vietnamese engineers can be trained, mature, and continue to train the next generation,” emphasized Viettel Group Deputy General Director Nguyen Vu Ha.

Considering this a typical cooperation model between enterprises and training institutions, representatives of the University of Natural Sciences committed to accompany Viettel in standardization, training and research to serve the semiconductor industry - a key science and technology field that is being prioritized for development, making a practical contribution to the National Semiconductor Human Resource Development Program.
This is also a concrete step demonstrating Viettel's determination in developing high-quality human resources, preparing for the deployment of Vietnam's first high-tech semiconductor chip manufacturing factory after the project is approved; making an important contribution to the formation of Vietnam's semiconductor ecosystem, creating a foundation for the country to master strategic technology in the new period.
