The Vietnamese Sports Delegation, led by Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh, attended the ceremony with officials and athletes of the national swimming team.
According to the arrangement of the Organizing Committee, the flag-raising ceremony of the Vietnamese delegation took place near the end, before the ceremony for the host country.
In the delegation, many young faces attending the SEA Games for the first time could not hide their emotions. 18-year-old swimmer Trinh Truong Vinh shared: “This is the first time I have attended the flag-raising ceremony. I feel very honored and proud to represent Vietnamese sports at this important event. That moment makes me even more determined to compete better to contribute to the overall success of the delegation.”
In parallel with the forces present in Bangkok, the flag-raising ceremony for the athlete group stationed in Chonburi is scheduled to take place on December 11 at Wyndham Jomtien.

Not only does it announce the presence of each delegation at the Congress, the SEA Games flag raising ceremony has long been considered an activity rich in symbolic value.
When the flags of the 11 ASEAN countries fly together, it is a reminder of the spirit of “One Vision – One Identity – One Community”, a spirit that has been repeatedly affirmed in ASEAN joint statements.
Since the first Games, the SEA Games have always been seen not only as a competition but also as a forum for connection, where sports become a bridge to foster peace , understanding and friendship.
The flag-raising ceremony therefore carries a profound message: Pride in the colors of the flag, but at the same time a sense of responsibility to contribute to building a stable, sustainable regional community that respects cultural diversity.
In the context of many changes in the world and the region, the image of ASEAN sports delegations present together in a solemn ceremony becomes a strong message sent from Bangkok: Solidarity is still the core value to overcome challenges.
This is also the spirit that ASEAN leaders emphasized in the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 — towards a peaceful, prosperous, cohesive and proactively adaptive space.
