Leaders of the Department of Tourism and the Border Police of Da Nang International Airport warmly welcomed the first passengers from Almaty (Kazakhstan) to Da Nang.

Specifically, from Almaty to Da Nang there will be 2 flights per week on Tuesday and Friday; from Astana to Da Nang there will be 2 flights per week on Wednesday and Saturday.

According to Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, the opening of the Almaty (Kazakhstan) - Da Nang flight route marks an important milestone in connecting Da Nang tourism with the Kazakhstan market in particular and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in general, contributing to promoting the attraction of tourists from this new potential market to Da Nang.

The Department of Tourism of Da Nang City has proactively issued a Plan to develop and serve the international tourist market via flights from CIS countries, focusing on communication, promotion and market research; enhancing the promotion of Da Nang tourism to the CIS market; sharing information, orienting the market, and checking to ensure security and safety for tourists; preparing suitable tourism products and improving the quality of human resources serving tourists.

CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) has 9 official member states, including: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

With a population of over 245 million people and a total GDP of nearly 2.6 trillion USD (2024), the CIS region is considered a large potential market, especially Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan - countries with a tradition of long-term vacation tourism (especially during the winter holidays from December to February, most of the current tours have a long duration of 10-15 days), high spending and a preference for tropical climate.

On the same day, tonight (April 2), Da Nang airport will continue to welcome a new flight to the city. Specifically, flight 8M-454 departing from Yangon airport (Myanmar) will land at Da Nang International Airport carrying the first 80 passengers to visit and travel in Vietnam.
