Dong A University awarded more than 43 billion VND in scholarships on the opening day

DNVN - On September 24, at Tien Son Sports Palace (Da Nang), Dong A University officially held the opening ceremony of the new school year 2025 - 2026, awarding talent and study encouragement scholarships to new students in 2025 with a total value of more than 43 billion VND.

The program was attended directly by leaders of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, departments and branches of the city, offices of the Consulate General in Da Nang, unions and associations with affiliated enterprises, more than 50 representatives of the Principals of high schools in the city and neighboring provinces, the Board of Directors, teachers and more than 3,600 new students of Dong A University.

The opening ceremony of the new school year 2025 - 2026 of Dong A University was solemnly held at Ten Son Sports Palace (Da Nang) on ​​September 24.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Anh Tuan acknowledged the results that Dong A University has, is and will contribute in training and supplying human resources to contribute to the development of businesses, the city as well as all regions of the country.

He also appreciated the great determination, strong innovative thinking and long-term vision of the school's Board of Directors, thereby helping Dong A University gradually affirm its position in its training functions and missions, focusing on the fields of economics , engineering, tourism, languages ​​and health.

According to Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Dong A University has focused on key industries that Da Nang City has been aiming for to develop a high-quality human resource in technology, AI, semiconductors, IT, logistics and tourism... The school is also one of the "leading birds" in conducting scientific and technical research, innovation and international cooperation and exchange.

Notably, up to now, Dong A University has expanded its connections with 150 universities, organizations, and localities in other countries and more than 500 domestic units; effectively implemented international cooperation, foreign student exchanges, and sent students to work abroad after graduation.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Da Nang City awarded the emulation flag to Dong A University for its outstanding achievements in the city's patriotic emulation movement for the period 2020 - 2025. In 2024, Dong A University also received a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City for its outstanding achievements in 10 years of implementing Directive 38-CT/TU of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on continuing to innovate emulation and reward work, period 2014-2024.

Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet - Vice President of Dong A University said that the input quality of Dong A University students in 2025 is very good. Of which, 202 students achieved high school graduation exam scores of 24 points or higher, many excellent students achieved high school graduation exam scores of 27 to 28 points.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao - President of Dong A University awarded prizes to students who won scientific research and start-up awards in 2025.

There are 2,995 students who achieved a high school graduation exam score of 19 points or higher, and a combination of 3 subjects of 23 points or higher, with an average grade of 8 points or higher in grade 12, accounting for over 83%. Many new freshmen also achieved outstanding achievements in scientific research, art, sports, music, and elegant talent competitions at the provincial, municipal, and national levels.

He said that job opportunities for Dong A University students are very open. Currently, large corporations in the world's top 500 such as Foxlink Da Nang, Luxshare ICT Nghe An... are waiting to recruit Dong A University students to become resource staff.

There are many international internship and work programs in Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Germany, etc. from the school's partners. In 2024, 247 students went abroad to work in many different countries in many different fields, accounting for more than 12% of graduates.

Hundreds of scholarships worth more than 43 billion VND were awarded by the Cherry Blossom Scholarship Fund to new students for the 2025-2026 school year.

He told the new students: “From now on, you should start learning foreign languages, practicing your attitude and working skills, especially professional expertise, in the most diligent way. The school hopes that after working and studying in developed countries, you will return to make a strong contribution to the Vietnamese business community or start a business."

At the opening ceremony of the new school year, Dong A University awarded the Cherry Blossom Scholarship Fund worth more than 43 billion VND to new students. Of which, there are more than 200 talented scholarships for students with high entrance results in the 2025 admission period, including full scholarships (100% of the entire course tuition), partial scholarships (50% of the entire course tuition) and 30% of the entire course tuition; thousands of scholarships worth 7 million VND/scholarship to support students.

At the same time, more than 110 Vietnam-Japan Bridge scholarships, 5 scholarships from the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang and 6 scholarships from accompanying businesses were also awarded to excellent and hard-working students. The awards of the 2025 Dong A University Student Scientific Research and Entrepreneurship Competition were also presented on this occasion.

Previously, the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year of the Dak Lak Branch took place on September 11. Dong A University also spent nearly 6 billion VND from the Cherry Blossom Scholarship Fund to award hundreds of valuable talent and study encouragement scholarships to new students.
