This is a special political event, marking a historic turning point after the merger of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces, opening a new era full of potential and aspirations for the development of the new Thai Nguyen province.

With the theme "Strengthening the building of a clean, strong and comprehensive Party and political system; ensuring national defense and security; promoting the tradition of solidarity, breakthroughs in rapid, unique and sustainable development; comprehensively improving the people's lives, building Thai Nguyen province into a modern industrial center with high average income before 2030", the Congress clearly defined the goals and vision for the new term.

Comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee delivered the opening speech at the Congress.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, emphasized: "The documents submitted to the Congress are the crystallization of the political will, steadfast belief and aspiration for innovation of the entire Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province; demonstrating the vision and aspiration to rise strongly, creating a solid foundation for Thai Nguyen province to develop rapidly and sustainably."

The Congress will focus on two main tasks: Summarizing the implementation of the Resolution of the two Party Committees of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan before the merger, determining the direction and goals for the 2025-2030 term; and discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents of the 14th National Congress of the Party.

At the Congress, Comrade Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented the Political Report. The report emphasized the important and comprehensive achievements of the Provincial Party Committee in the 2020 - 2025 term, especially the solidarity and efforts of the Standing Committee, Standing Committee and Party Executive Committee of the two provinces before and after the merger.

During the past term, Thai Nguyen has achieved impressive results: Economic growth reached an average of 7.3%/year. GRDP per capita in 2025 reached 119 million VND, 1.5 times higher than in 2020.

Industry is the main driving force for growth. Industrial production value increases by an average of 8% per year, reaching 1,156 trillion VND by 2025. The province has 12 industrial parks and 40 industrial clusters, and is one of the leading localities in the country in terms of export value.

State budget revenue will reach VND24,735 billion in 2025, 1.7 times higher than in 2020. Agriculture will shift strongly towards commodities. The province has 575 OCOP products, of which 10 products have achieved the national 5-star OCOP standard.

Social security: The poverty rate has decreased by an average of 1.41% per year, exceeding the set target. The two-level local government model has been operating smoothly since July 1, 2025.

On behalf of the Presidium, comrade Nguyen Dang Binh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council presented the Review Report of the Provincial Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025, also frankly pointed out the limitations and shortcomings that need to be overcome such as: Leadership capacity and fighting strength of some Party committees have not met the requirements; inspection, examination and supervision work in some localities and units is not regular; economic development is not commensurate with the potential.

Speaking at the Congress, General Phan Van Giang acknowledged and praised the achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Nguyen province. He emphasized the importance of clearly identifying potentials and advantages and selecting key tasks and breakthroughs to create new changes.

Accordingly, comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee for the new term.

The announcement of personnel decisions was one of the important contents at the Congress, marking the beginning of a new development period of the province.
