Dak Lak increased by 0.64 points, decreased by 2 ranks on the PCI Index ranking in 2024

According to the announced results, for the first time Hai Phong surpassed localities that had held the leading position for many years such as Quang Ninh, Dong Thap... to rise to the number 1 position with 74.84 points, becoming the province with the best economic management quality in the country.

Top 30 provinces and cities in the Provincial Competitiveness Index PCI 2024 ranking.

With a score of 65.1, Dak Lak's PCI Index in 2024 ranked 53rd out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide, up 0.64 points, down 2 places compared to 2023 (64.46 points, ranked 51st out of 63 provinces and cities).

In particular, the component indexes recorded improvements compared to 2023 such as: Market entry index (reaching 7.65 points, an increase of 0.38 points compared to 2023); Transparency index (reaching 6.93 points, an increase of 1.47 points); Time cost index (reaching 7.69 points, an increase of 0.07 points); Government dynamism and pioneering index (reaching 6.13 points, an increase of 0.06 points); Business support policy index (reaching 6.74 points, an increase of 0.61 points); Labor training index (reaching 5.86 points, an increase of 0.78 points); Legal institutions and security and order index (reaching 7.55 points, an increase of 0.3 points).

The indexes that decreased in score compared to 2023 include: Land access index (6.36 points, down 0.7 points); Informal cost index (6.86 points, down 0.35 points); Fair competition index (4.6 points, down 1.19 points).

The PCI report is an annual publication conducted by VCCI. The 2024 PCI report continues to convey businesses' assessments of local government efforts in environmental management and protection, and promoting green investment and green practices by local businesses. Thereby, it recommends localities to promote green growth and sustainable development.

PCI 2024 marks the 20-year journey of this index's birth and publication in Vietnam, but is also the last report with all 63 provinces and cities before the merger of localities was carried out according to Resolution 74/NQ-CP of the Government on promulgating the Plan to implement the arrangement of administrative units and build a 2-level local government organization model.
