| Manchester United have the advantage in negotiations to buy Mason Mount from Chelsea. |
Manchester United have begun negotiations to sign Mason Mount.
Manchester United are ready to splash out £55 million to bring Mason Mount to Old Trafford next summer.
Mason Mount is a top target for manager Erik ten Hag in the 2023 summer transfer window. Therefore, Manchester United want a deal to be finalized quickly in the coming period.
The England international is about to enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge with an uncertain future.
Sources from Old Trafford indicate that Manchester United have begun negotiations to sign Mason Mount.
MU will bid £55 million for the deal, significantly lower than the £85 million Chelsea are demanding.
However, with Mason Mount's contract with The Blues expiring in just over a year, the Stamford Bridge club no longer has the final say.
With contract extension negotiations stalled, Chelsea face the risk of losing Mason Mount for free next summer.
Besides MU, both Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in Mason Mount. However, the Red Devils are taking concrete steps to gain an advantage in negotiations.
Chelsea's potential manager for next season, Mauricio Pochettino, also admires Mount and wants the club's leadership to try to keep him at the club.
However, there has been no concrete breakthrough yet. The American owners have spent £600 million on new signings but are not prioritizing a new contract with Mason Mount.

Bayern Munich may sell Marcel Sabitzer.
Bayern Munich are demanding £22 million from Manchester United if they sign Marcel Sabitzer on a long-term contract this summer.
The Austrian midfielder has made a good impression since moving to Old Trafford on loan in January of this year.
Sabitzer scored 3 goals in 18 appearances under manager Erik ten Hag. However, injury meant the season ended prematurely for the 29-year-old midfielder.
MU are targeting big transfer deals this summer. However, everything will only go through if the change of ownership is completed soon.
According to Sky Sports , if manager Ten Hag wants to keep Sabitzer long-term, they will have to pay the German club £22 million.
Coach Thomas Tuchel has excluded the Austrian player from his plans for next season. Therefore, Bayern Munich is quite open to selling Sabitzer outright.
Upon hearing this news, many Manchester United fans reacted on social media.

Neymar would be favored if he wanted to join MU.
Midfielder Casemiro is trying to convince his Brazil teammate Neymar to join Manchester United this summer.
According to the Daily Mail , Man Utd are working to secure Neymar's signature after PSG are reportedly willing to let the Brazilian star leave this summer.
Negotiations have been underway between the two clubs in preparation for an upcoming blockbuster transfer.
In particular, midfielder Casemiro is seen as the intermediary to persuade Neymar to join the "Red Devils," as the two are close teammates in the Brazilian national team.
If Neymar joins Old Trafford, in addition to Casemiro, he will also have the support of another teammate from the Brazilian national team, Antony.
The Daily Mail also confirmed that manager Erik Ten Hag highly values Neymar's arrival at Man Utd, believing it will greatly benefit the team next season, as the Brazilian star is a highly experienced striker who has played for top European clubs such as Barcelona and PSG.
Neymar has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in just 20 appearances for PSG in Ligue 1 this season.
The Brazilian striker earns £34 million a year at PSG. This could be a major obstacle for Man Utd.
British media reports that Manchester United implemented the "Ronaldo Rule" after CR7 left the team, meaning they capped players' earnings at £200,000 per week. If Neymar were to join Man Utd, he might have to take a pay cut.
Furthermore, sources indicate that up to four Premier League teams are pursuing Neymar's signature – including Newcastle, who recently secured a place in the Champions League.
