In the economic field, the Town Party Committee focuses on leading sustainable agricultural development, applying high technology to production, improving product quality, and meeting market demand. In the 2024-2025 winter-spring crop, rice yield will reach 7.5 - 8.81 tons/ha, an increase of 1.19 tons/ha over the same period. High-quality, biosafety rice production models continue to be replicated.

The town has participated in the Project "Sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030", which has brought practical results to the agricultural sector in general and to farmers in particular. "Farmers' income increases by 12 - 50% compared to traditional farming methods. Profits can increase by 4 - 7.6 million VND/ha. Input costs are reduced by 20 - 30% (reduced seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and irrigation water). The socio-economic situation continues to develop, the town has gradually become a driving force for socio-economic development in the northern region of the province, an important hub for trade of goods and services with Cambodia and ASEAN countries. People's lives have been improved, average income per capita has increased, ranking 3rd in the whole province (reaching nearly 70 million VND/person/year).
