To create that success, the young designers and coaches have gone through certain pressures for nearly 2 months. Most of the young designers behind the national cultural costumes for Miss Grand Vietnam 2023 - Miss Peace Vietnam 2023 are 11th and 12th graders, some even born in 2009. However, it can be seen that this year's young designers are enthusiastic, bold in their ideas and have the ability to realize their designs.

Spend billions to implement
Coach - Designer Viet Hung said that because this is his first year supporting contestants, he has no experience in selecting contestants for his team. Most of the contestants are in grades 11 and 12, so there is absolutely no funding. What they have is enthusiasm, hard work, passion and an abundance of fresh ideas. That is why he loves them very much and wants to support them as much as possible.
Coach Viet Hung said he invested nearly 1 billion VND more in the costumes he just performed with the desire to spread Vietnamese culture.

Coach - Designer Van Thanh Cong shared that most of the participating designers live far from Ho Chi Minh City, such as Bac Lieu, some mountainous provinces... so the cost of food and travel has almost run out of the funds they have and that is the reason he agreed to help, so that the children in remote areas can reach their dreams and satisfy their passion for fashion .
Cultural and ethnic costumes performed on stage
Coach - Designer Nguyen Minh Cong shared that Miss Grand International 2023 will be held in Vietnam next October, so he wants to bring more Vietnamese cultural features into each outfit. His biggest difficulty is how to make the outfits come true, handle the weight... to step out on stage or in real life in the most splendid way.
Young designers take care of costumes backstage
According to coach - designer Vu Viet Ha: "Last year, our team's 'Truc Chi' won the prize, so I put pressure on myself to do really well, be more meticulous and focus more on this year's competition. The criteria of Vu Viet Ha's team is to always simplify what is complicated. Besides, we still promote the spirit of national culture, but the costumes must be fashionable and predict the upcoming trend at Miss Grand International 2023 because at that time, the design will represent Vietnam. For me, when a designer makes a national cultural costume, the highest value that the design brings is to preserve and develop that indigenous culture. Along with the breath of folk and contemporary, I think the contestants this year have done well."
From drawing to finished product on stage
As for the coach team - designer Nguyen Minh Tuan, he shared that he did not feel much pressure because creating costumes in a short time is a familiar task for a professional designer. However, he understands and shares the pressure with young designers more because they do not have experience and have to handle a large amount of work. Therefore, the "designer of beauty queens" has hung up a cash prize for the winning contestant in the team.
The costumes are "huge" and complicated
Revealing backstage, designer Nguyen Viet Hung said that the Canh Dieu Tuoi Tho costume was 100% hand-knitted and handmade. "Because it was handmade, this design could not have been done by 2-3 people because there would be a difference in the crocheting and knitting strength of each person. To make the shirt even and perfect, the author and Hung were under a lot of pressure in terms of time. Luckily, we were able to finish it before the show."
Coach Vu Viet Ha said that Huong Thi was a design that brought pressure right before the show because "it was handmade, requiring meticulousness and high precision in the execution. This costume was very heavy compared to the slender shoulders of runner-up Tuyet Nhu. Therefore, we were very stressed to adjust the weight and details accordingly."
Regarding "giant" designs like Tam Sac Tam or difficult to perform like Stilts , Coach Van Thanh Cong said: "I also feel like I'm taking a risk when choosing such grand and difficult to perform designs. However, the audience has watched the brilliant season 1, so I want to continue to bring surprising and eye-catching elements to the program. I believe this will be a new and explosive breeze in this year's National Costume season."
