After overcoming top contender Argentina U17 in the semi-final via penalty shootout, Germany U17 entered the 2023 U17 World Cup final against France U17 on December 2nd with high confidence. In the Euro 2023 U17 final in June, Germany U17 defeated their opponents to claim the championship.

Germany U17 took the lead in the 29th minute thanks to a penalty goal from Paris Brunner. This was also the score at the end of the first 45 minutes.
The second half was exciting and dramatic. In the 51st minute, Noah Darvich increased Germany's lead to 2-0. Just two minutes later, France's U17 team pulled one back through striker Saimon Bouabre, making the score 1-2.
Germany U17 were reduced to ten men after Winners Osawe received his second yellow card. Taking advantage of the numerical superiority, France U17 equalized 2-2 in the 85th minute thanks to a goal from Mathis Amougou.

The two teams went into extra time, but the score remained 2-2 after 120 minutes, forcing a penalty shootout. In the tense shootout, Germany U17 emerged victorious with a 4-3 scoreline. France U17 had three players miss their penalties, while Germany U17 goalkeeper Konstantin Heide successfully saved two.
After defeating France U17 in a thrilling penalty shootout, Germany U17 won the World Cup for the first time. They also became the first team to win both the European U17 Championship and the World U17 Championship in the same year.
In yesterday's (December 1st) third-place match of the 2023 U17 World Cup, Argentina's U17 team unexpectedly lost to Mali's U17 team with a score of 0-3.
