In recent years, Tra Vinh province has made many efforts in investing to strongly develop tourism - the "smokeless industry."

The province strives to achieve the goal of welcoming about 2.5 million tourists by 2025, with total revenue from 2025 onwards reaching over 1,600 billion VND.

Rich and diverse in potential

Many experts assess that Tra Vinh province has many potential resources and strengths for tourism development: it is a coastal province with many beautiful natural landscapes of mangrove forests, many sandbanks and islands located between Tien and Hau rivers, famous landscapes for a long time such as Ba Dong beach, Ba Om pond...

Along with that, Tra Vinh also has many historical relics, ancient architecture, cultural heritage, pagodas, and river and garden landscapes.

Currently, Tra Vinh province has 2 national treasures (Linga-Yoni Statue and Chau Thanh Gold Leaf Collection, Tra Vinh); 16 national relics, 39 provincial relics; 7 national intangible cultural heritages and more than 400 relics under inventory and management, along with 142 Khmer pagodas with unique ancient architecture.

These are ideal destinations for domestic and foreign tourists who are interested in sightseeing, learning about cultural activities, spiritual festivals, and resort tourism in the coastal atmosphere.

Duyen Hai town, Tra Vinh province has Ba Dong beach, a famous resort since the French colonial period.

Here, there are still many protected, cared for and nurtured primeval forests, with diverse flora and fauna including mangroves, acacias, sycamores, parrots, water coconuts, shrimps, crabs, clams, cockles, monitor lizards, wild boars, snakes, weasels...

This area also has a hot mineral water mine running from Con Ong hamlet, Dan Thanh commune to Long Thanh hamlet, ward 1, which was reviewed and approved by the National Mineral Reserves Assessment Council at level B (240 m3/day and night), with a temperature of 37.5 degrees, ideal for exploiting hot mineral bath services.

In addition, Duyen Hai town also has key national projects such as: Duyen Hai Power Center; 5 offshore wind power projects have been put into operation and connected to the national grid, with 79 wind turbines stretching from the sea of Hiep Thanh commune, Duyen Hai town to Dong Hai commune, Duyen Hai district; a channel for large-tonnage ships to enter Hau river, Dinh An Economic Zone and a seaport under construction with the largest and most beautiful scale in the South.

Cau Ke District, a locality located along the Hau River, is where the annual provincial Vu Lan Festival takes place with many cultural and artistic activities, trade-agricultural fairs (introducing traditional craft village specialties, displaying and selling specialty fruits such as: mangosteen, wax coconut, green-skinned grapefruit, xoan orange...).

In particular, Minh Duc Cung, also known as Ong Bon Pagoda, is ranked as a national architectural and artistic relic. Every year, this place welcomes tens of thousands of domestic and foreign tourists to worship.

With many resources and advantages, in the past 5 years, Tra Vinh province has devoted many investment resources and implemented many preferential policies to attract investment to "awaken" potential, creating a breakthrough for the province's tourism industry.

“Soft” mechanisms and policies for tourism development

Mr. Duong Hoang Sum, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province, said that the unit has advised the province to issue the Provincial Tourism Development Strategy for the period 2025-2030, identifying tourism as one of the key economic sectors.

The unit, together with departments, branches, districts, towns and cities in the province, completes plans and solutions to develop tourism. Key solutions are focused on detailed planning; preferential policies and mechanisms to attract investment; appropriate investment in infrastructure and technical facilities; strengthening linkages and tourism promotion...

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Duyen Hai town calls for investment in tourism projects such as the Provincial Military Farm Mangrove Ecotourism Area, Ba Dong Sea Mangrove Ecotourism Area, and Duyen Hai Hot Mineral Spring Tourism Area.

In Duyen Hai town, investment will be attracted to form 2-3 coastal resort areas; improve services for guests associated with Truc Lam Zen Monastery located in Ba Dong beach area...
