David Luiz has a happy family. |
According to social worker Francisca Barbosa Cavalcante, the threatening messages appeared on Instagram shortly after her relationship with Luiz ended. She said she had turned down an invitation to have a “threesome,” which led to a heated argument.
The former Chelsea and Arsenal star is now engaged to long-term girlfriend Bruna Loureiro, but Cavalcante claims Luiz warned her about the “money and power” he has.
Some screenshots, allegedly of messages sent by Luiz, even include a warning that her son could “suffer consequences”. Another message allegedly reads: “I can simply make you disappear”.

Cavalcante makes Luiz lose sleep. |
Cavalcante claims that Luiz offered her £14,000 after she reported the incident to the police, on the condition that she disappear from his life. However, she refused to accept the money. Luiz is said to have repeated the threat afterwards, even claiming that he “wouldn’t live long”.
Cavalcante provided screenshots to Brazilian police and claimed the messages made her feel like she and her son were in direct danger. After going public, she said she felt constantly followed and was forced to change hotels several times.
According to local media, Cavalcante met Luiz when he contacted her on social media and invited her to stay at a hotel in Fortaleza, the capital of the north-eastern Brazilian state of Ceara. Her lawyer, Fabiano Tavora, said the hotels cost up to £140 a night and were paid for by Luiz.
Less than 24 hours after the police filed the complaint, a court issued a restraining order to protect Cavalcante. Luiz, who plays for Pafos (Cyprus), continued to deny ever meeting Cavalcante. He admitted to messaging her on Instagram but insisted he had not made any threats.
In a statement, Luiz said: “I have never threatened anyone, I have never threatened this woman, I have never met her in person, nor have I stayed at the hotel they are referring to.” His publicist added that legal proceedings had been initiated.
