Promoting the Coordination Program between the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Son La Provincial Party Committee

On May 9, in Hanoi, comrades: Pham Tien Nam, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union ; Lo Minh Hung, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee co-chaired the Conference to evaluate the results of the implementation of the Coordination Program between the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Son La Provincial Party Committee in 2023; and deploy the plan for 2024.

Attending the conference, Son La province had comrades: Luu Minh Quan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and the Standing Committee of the Son La Provincial Farmers' Association.

Last year, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union and the Son La Provincial Party Committee agreed to implement 19 tasks in coordination work, focusing on the following areas: Agriculture, farmers, and rural areas until 2030, with a vision to 2045. Continuing to innovate, develop and improve the efficiency of the collective economy in the new period, with a focus on implementing policies to encourage and support the development of the collective economy...

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union has chaired, coordinated, and organized surveys, built introduction points, brand recognition points, booths displaying agricultural products and consuming Son La agricultural products in the provinces and cities: Hanoi, Thua Thien Hue, Phu Yen, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Da Nang... Organized booths displaying safe agricultural products and OCOP products of the province at the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, at the National Convention Center.

Representatives of the Center for Support of Farmers and Rural Areas, Central Committee of Vietnam Farmers' Union spoke at the conference.

Son La province has coordinated with the Central Vietnam Farmers' Union to organize the "Plum and Safe Agricultural Products Week of Son La province at Thang Long Trade Center in 2023" in Hanoi. At the same time, the project to build a pilot model for Vietnamese farmers to classify, collect and transport household waste in rural areas in Chieng Co commune, Son La city was implemented. 3 training courses were organized for 600 farming households and a model of applying science and technology and biological products in intensive cultivation of tangerines in Chieng Co commune, Son La city, with a scale of 10 hectares, with 20 households participating.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee spoke at the conference.

In 2024, the Central Farmers' Association and Son La Provincial Party Committee will continue to coordinate to implement the construction of concentrated, sustainable agricultural production areas applying high technology; building raw material areas for agricultural production for processing factories in the province from loans from the Farmers' Support Fund; building a model of a new rural village; new-style cooperatives, linking along the value chain, sustainable development. Organizing the Vietnamese Farmers' Pride Program, the Ceremony to honor and award the title of "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer" in 2024 and organizing the National Farmers' Forum...

Comrade Pham Tien Nam, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, spoke at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Pham Tien Nam suggested that both sides consider and organize domestic and foreign research and study delegations to promote agricultural product consumption; survey and evaluate the results of building economic models; thereby, replicating effective models, bringing high income to farmer members.

Comrade Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, suggested that the two sides continue to discuss and agree on the implementation of the coordination program. In 2024, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union is requested to prioritize and support the province in building chain production for jackfruit and pear trees; soon have a plan to allocate funds to implement coordination contents, build economic development models in the province...
