The Ministry of Education and Training has responded to voters' recommendations regarding the management of extra teaching and learning activities to ensure authentic education, avoiding the situation where students become "learning machines", "parrot learners" or serve teachers' income goals.
According to voters' feedback, after Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT was issued, the management of extra teaching and learning has had many positive changes, contributing to reorienting teaching and learning activities in a healthier direction.
However, the implementation still has shortcomings, causing pressure on parents and students. Voters asked the Ministry of Education to study and adjust regulations to suit the actual situation to improve management efficiency, reduce the burden of extra classes and move towards a humane and comprehensive education .
The Ministry of Education and Training said that in recent times, it has implemented many synchronous solutions to manage extra teaching and learning such as: Improving the quality of regular school hours, increasing accountability for the quality of education of schools, expanding experiential, practical and training activities to meet the comprehensive development needs of students.
The Ministry of Education and Training has advised the Prime Minister to issue a telegram on strengthening the direction of junior high school and high school enrollment and the management of extra teaching and learning activities; at the same time, it has issued documents directing localities to coordinate and effectively implement Circular No. 29/2024/TT-BGDDT. The Ministry also recommends that localities allocate sufficient resources to build schools and classrooms, reduce enrollment pressure and contribute to limiting unnecessary extra teaching and learning.
The Ministry of Education and Training will continue to direct innovation in teaching, testing and evaluation methods; encourage the application of information technology in teaching and school management; promote the organization of two-session teaching/day and summer activities for students.
These are measures to address the widespread situation of extra classes, while ensuring compliance with the policy of free tuition for high school students, better meeting the needs of developing the capacity and qualities of each student.
