Promote training and education on occupational safety and hygiene

Training to raise the sense of responsibility of workers and employers is an effective and practical solution to effectively implement occupational safety and hygiene (OSH).

The 2025 Occupational Safety and Health Action Month with the theme "Strengthening assessment, identification of hazards and risks and proactively implementing measures to ensure occupational safety and health at the workplace" takes place from May 1 to May 31.

As part of a series of activities in response to the month of action, the Department of Home Affairs organized two conferences to disseminate occupational safety and health policies and laws in Duc Hoa and Ben Luc districts, Long An province. The conference attracted more than 200 companies and enterprises with more than 500 participants.

Companies and enterprises participate in the Conference on Propagating policies and laws on occupational safety and hygiene in Duc Hoa district.

The conference content revolved around issues such as the system of legal documents on occupational safety and health in Vietnam; the system of technical standards and regulations; occupational safety and health regulations when building new production facilities; regulations on handling administrative procedures on occupational safety and health;...

In particular, the conference also presented many practical situations to help companies and enterprises visualize the regulations and types of occupational accidents that are likely to occur in each industry and field. From there, experts suggested that companies and enterprises handle the situation in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Occupational Safety and Health.

Mr. Truong Hoa Hai - Southern Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Science under the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Science, said: Work accidents cannot be blamed entirely on the workers, but also on the employers.

Because employers properly implement the Law on Occupational Safety and Health, regularly inspect and strictly handle employees who do not comply with the company's rules and regulations, many occupational accidents will be limited.

Therefore, training and coaching on occupational safety and health will contribute to raising awareness and responsibility of employees and employers.

Long An College is the only public vocational training unit in the province. Every year, the school provides thousands of skilled and technical workers for companies and enterprises.

In order to raise awareness of students in occupational safety and health, the school devotes a section to teaching regulations and rules on the Law on Occupational Safety and Health; at the same time, lecturers also guide and remind students during their practice at the workshop.

Students of Long An College - Ben Luc Campus are equipped with knowledge about occupational safety and hygiene.

Tran Bao Dinh, a student at Long An College - Ben Luc Campus, confided: "Teachers often give examples of work-related accident situations, so when I stand on equipment or machinery, I wear protective equipment, operate it according to the correct procedures, and clean up after I'm done."

The 2025 OSH Action Month is coming to an end with many practical and specific activities. With the shared responsibility of companies, enterprises and workers, the action month continues to spread deeply and widely, creating a strong effect in the community.
