Strengthening capacity and orientation of science and technology communication in the digital era
The training conference on science and technology communication, innovation and digital transformation in 2025 organized by the Center for Science and Technology Communication ( Ministry of Science and Technology ) in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology of Ninh Binh on November 6-7, 2025 is one of the key activities to improve the capacity, skills and modern communication thinking of the focal staff of science and technology units. The event affirms the determination of the Ministry of Science and Technology in building a professional communication team, contributing to spreading the spirit of innovation and promoting sustainable national development.
Within the framework of the program, students listened to many practical topics shared by prestigious experts in the field of journalism and communication.

Colonel, Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, presented the topic: "Skills in providing information to the press by state agencies through press conferences, press releases, and interviews".

According to Dr. Nguyen Hong Hai, the press conference host not only needs to have a firm grasp of the content, but also needs to know how to "tell his story" in journalistic language, with an open attitude and professional demeanor.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khai, by 2030, the program aims for all major press agencies to have a specialized page or column on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation; build and operate a national digital media platform; form a nationwide science and technology media network, closely connecting managers, scientists, businesses and the public.
"Science and technology communication is not only a propaganda tool but must become a component of the development strategy, closely linked to each task, each research program, and each innovation project," Mr. Nguyen Van Khai affirmed.
At the Conference, MSc. Nguyen Van Hao, lecturer at the Academy of Journalism and Communication, shared the topic: "Application of artificial intelligence (AI) in communication of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation".

Master Nguyen Van Hao said: AI is opening up new methods of content production, data analysis, message optimization and fake news detection, but also places higher demands on ethics, copyright and social responsibility of media workers.

Science and Technology Communication – from a Propaganda Tool to a Development Driver
At the end of the Conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Hang, Director of the Center for Science and Technology Communication, emphasized: "In the context of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation becoming the main driving force of national development, communication work is not only a bridge between scientific knowledge and the public but also an inseparable part in the process of policy planning and implementation. Each communication focal point is the 'nucleus of knowledge dissemination', the person connecting managers, scientists and society. Organizing training courses like today aims to help the communication team of the science and technology sector be equipped with modern methods, skills and thinking to accurately - accurately - effectively convey the values of science and innovation to the people".
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai Hang said that the Ministry of Science and Technology is promoting the implementation of the National Communication Program on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation until 2030, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1169/QD-TTg dated June 16, 2025. This is a nationwide program with a unified and long-term communication orientation, aiming to affirm the role of Science, Technology and Innovation in developing modern production forces, enhancing national competitiveness, and at the same time forming a culture of innovation in society.

Science and technology communication cannot stop at disseminating scientific information, but must aim to build social trust, arouse the desire for creativity and the spirit of mastering technology in every Vietnamese citizen. That is the foundation for the country to develop quickly and sustainably, based on knowledge and innovation.
The 2025 communication training conference not only contributes to improving the professional capacity of the science and technology communication team, but also affirms the pioneering role of the Ministry of Science and Technology in promoting science communication to become an important driving force in the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW - making science and technology, innovation and digital transformation become the pillar of national development in the new period.
