In Tam Dao district, implementing Decision No. 617 of the Provincial People's Committee on assigning targets for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households, the whole district has a total of 80 households with housing difficulties, including 15 poor households and 65 near-poor households.
After screening, 29 households are eligible for support according to regulations, including 17 households building new houses and 12 households repairing. Up to now, no households have started construction; 2/12 households have completed repairs and 1 household is repairing.
Regarding the beneficiaries, after review and assessment, the whole district has 49 households eligible for support. Of these, 9 households requested to build new houses and 40 households requested support for renovation and repair. To date, 3 households have started to build new houses and 2 households have carried out repairs.
In Tam Duong district, after review and assessment, the whole district has 22 poor and near-poor households eligible for support, of which 9 new houses were built; 13 houses were renovated and repaired, 8 houses less than the initial registration. Currently, 8 new houses have started construction and 12 houses have been repaired.
Regarding the beneficiaries, after screening, the district has 88 cases eligible for support, including 31 newly built houses and 57 repaired houses. To date, 26 households have started construction; 2/57 households have completed repairs. It is expected that Tam Duong district will complete the targets and tasks before June 25, earlier than the time assigned by the Provincial People's Committee.
At the conference, representatives of the leaders of Tam Dao and Tam Duong districts said: Supporting funding for building and repairing houses for poor households and meritorious people is a policy of profound humane significance, demonstrating the concern of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee in caring for people's lives.
However, this work is currently facing certain difficulties. Many cases, after review, are not eligible for support; some families have withdrawn due to insufficient funds for construction. There are cases where the date and time for construction or appropriate repairs have not been determined...
With the motto of creating the most favorable conditions for the people, the localities affirmed that in the coming time, they will continue to review, complete the records, procedures and propose to add families who are eligible for support. Timely grasp the progress and results of construction and repair of each household to synthesize the report. Strengthen propaganda and mobilize organizations and individuals in the area to support funding and construction days, speed up the construction progress.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Hieu requested Tam Duong and Tam Dao districts to continue to direct and request communes and towns to focus on reviewing and considering support criteria to be able to add disadvantaged households to the list of supported households, paying attention to people with meritorious services; need to be flexible in applying support criteria so that people can enjoy the policies of the Party and the State. In cases where families do not have residential land, based on the provisions of the law, departments and branches will research and propose to competent authorities to consider allocating land to people. In addition, continue to mobilize different sources to increase support funding, strive to complete the commencement of new construction and repairs before June 30.
