Proposal to make the April 30 Reunification Festival in Ho Chi Minh City an annual activity

On the morning of May 8, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a meeting on the socio-economic situation in April and tasks and solutions for May 2025.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Minh Nhut - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City - informed about the results of the event celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

Ho Chi Minh City has also proactively linked tourism, trade, and cultural stimulus activities to the festival. However, according to Mr. Vu, this growth is only a "short wave" if it is not fueled by strategies to promote the image, promote tourism, and invest in synchronous cultural and tourism infrastructure.

Practices from these events show that Ho Chi Minh City needs to quickly upgrade capacity and service infrastructure to meet the needs of events with large crowds.
